I am glad I found this forum.  I know everybody is different, but on average what % of weight loss can a light weight expect to loose in a year

RNY:  4 June 2013

Many see 100% EWL within a year. I hit my lowest goal at 11 months post-op.

Welcome aboard!  kiss

I found this very helpful when I was in the losing phase.  I stayed a little ahead of it the whole time but not much.  Good luck.  I was at goal around a year, went under, to 111  and came back up.  Have settled around 124.

I think most LW can lose 100% excess weight by a year po.  I am 10 months out and hit normal BMI around a month ago, and still losing slowly.

It works if you work it; it sorta works if you sorta work it; and it doesn't work if you don't work it.

Welcome to the lightweights!

I hit 100% at 7 months, dropped more after that.

Do lightweights generally 100% of the EWL?

well, you'd have to define "generally" but statistically speaking lightweights are much more lightly to get to 100% excess weight loss than people who start out SMO. Basically the lighter you are when you get WLS and the shorter your time MO, the better off you tend to do. Your body has less damage that has to be repaired, is the theory so the surgery can do a better job repairing it.
