I'm pretty good at avoiding sweets - but when it's celebrating your own birthday it's kinda hard to avoid them totally.  Had a coworker bring in some pumpking bread or something like that.  I asked her to cut the piece in half.  I ate it.  It was pretty good.  I don't need any more.  Scale was pretty nice to me again today...

But - I have been eating all morning - ugh!  Not hungry but doing it anyway.  I need to stop.

B - 1 1/2 scoop protein coffee

S - small piece of the pumpkin bread

S - 4 turkey/ham rollups (half pieces)

L - mashed cauliflower - LOVE this stuff!  I also brought leftover steak - if I eat that I'm just a downright pig!  LOL

S - well I guess I'm a pig.  I ate the 4oz of steak about 3pm... I think the issue is I'm not feeling fullness today... I need to recognize that.

D - heck, who knows...

Vits:  oh crap - forgot them again this morning.  I'll get them tonight

Water:  low because I've been eating all morning.

Awesome job watching your carbs!  Nice when these scales move in the right direction!  I love sweets but she brought store bought angel food so I really didn't care if I had more than a tiny piece.

How do you make your mashed cauliflower?  Do you put anything on it?

I wouldn't think cauliflower would you fill you up.  You probably needed the Protein from the steak.  Some days I don't feel fullness and it's usually because I haven't taken my Prilosec for awhile.

Roz - I steam the cauliflower, ma**** with a mixer and add milk/butter just like you would potatoes to get the consistency you want.  I also have put some minced garlic in them - yum!  I'm a big salt person, so I salt/pepper after I put on my plate.  My daughter loves them too.

No - cauliflower may be considered a slider food, but it's good and good for you.  I used full fat cream and butter since I'm not worried about fats - in fact, I think I still malabsorb some fats.  I've taken milk out of my diet because of the carbs/sugar - haven't missed it a bit.

I was talking to a coworker here at work and she was saying I could probably put protein powder in it too - I could see using some unflavored to get extra protein in it.  I may have to give that a try some day.

I haven't taken a PPI for a long time.  It's just funny how some days I have great restriction (like today) and others I don't (like yesterday).

Hi Roz,

Good for you for speaking up. You did good!!! Happy belated or early birthday :)

Went to see my psychiatrist today. All the drugs I'm on are working great in stabilizing me, but they make me soooooo tired. So he added a new med to help keep me alert during the day. I don't feel good about another drug, but I secretly smiled when she said one of the side effects is weight loss :)

Still camped out at my sister's house. Looking forward to spending the weekend with Scott. I think he's got some big plans in store before I fly out on Sunday morning.

B: Tea, protein bar
L: Turkey and cheese on a deli flat
D: Panera - soup with a hunk of bread and 1/2 of a turkey sandwich - very high calorie and carb (won't be doing that again anytime soon
S: yogurt

Have a great Thursday

Roz - I heard Panera has a "secret" menu you have to ask for - that's all "good for you stuff".  I think I either saw it on TV or read about it.  I haven't tried it yet either since I avoid Panera since everything is so bready....  But someday I will.
