haven't had surgery yet, worried about regain - no restriction.
I don't think restriction actually goes away. I know I can't eat any more than I could at 1 year out. Our stomachs are made from human tissue - they aren't a water balloon!
Restriction does lessen for some but what happens to a lot of people is that they start to eat around their surgeries. They eat a lot of slider foods so that they can eat more. If they ate steak or chicken, they'd only be able to eat a small amount just like before but they eat yogurt and chips and cottage cheese and drink their calories so they don't invoke their restriction.

Doctors say the RNY is the "Gold Standard" but the DS is the Platinum Standard. The biggest issue for me was the ability to take NSAIDS which you can't do with the RNY.
Go check the regrets and revision boards too...you won't see many revising FROM the DS to something else...most are revising TO the DS or Sleeve.
As a revision you will need a doctor who is excellent...and that is a very small subset of DS surgeons which is already a small group.
Current list of DS revision surgeons (those *****vise from another surgery TO the DS)
