9 months out and I have hit goal

Well, technically the 9 month mark was yesterday, but I was away from home. This morning I could not believe my eyes, had to call Mike (DH) to verify what I saw. Considering I've been eating hospital food for 3 days, I'm quite surprised. I thought I was going to see a gain. Wow, now I need to figure out maintenance. Let the next adventure begin...

Just keep following your program and let your body decide where to stop.  Don't force maintenance at 9 months. I will betcha you have another 10 lbs before you're done.

congrats!

I actually hope I am close to stopping. My bones are really beginning to show to the point where it looks a little scary. However, a little bounce back room isn't a bad idea.

I agree with Jody...don't start maint until you are at least 18-24 months out. Go as low as your body will let you, bounceback is a *****!

Thanks for pointing that out.  I keep forgetting about going past goal because of bounce back.

Congratulations on your achievement!  Give yourself a hearty slap on the back and a round of applause!  You have done great in the time you have had this surgery.  I wonder how low you will get in another 9 months.

After I hit goal, actually lots of goals, I just kept on keeping on.  I got as low as 111 but have settled at 123-4.  Yes, 111 was too low but I would rather be in the 120 range instead of 124.  Let your body work it out.

Meanwhile, hurray, hurray  angry

Congrats!!!!   Enjoy the boney look for awhile!  Don't even think of starting maintenance until you are actually as low as your body wants you to go.  Bounce back is crappy but the bounce back you get before reaching your "real" goal is a whole lot worse!!  Stopping to soon is one of my Biggest Regrets!
