Ha ha I know what you mean about not actually measuring them!! ;-)  It's weird that they've increased in size for a VSGer - may you eat differently now??

I just want to know how it is that I poop at lot more volume then I could possibly be taking in. I mean, really. I know I don't eat that much but it seems like for every cup of food I take in, two cups come out.

I think it's great that you are eliminating more volume than you are taking in!

But it is a scientific mystery to me....  It's a known fact that it's a one intake tube digestion system with  2 output tubes (fecal and urine).  So if 1 cup of food goes into the only intake tube, where is the other 1 cup coming from?  My mother used to comment once in a while that us kids "had sh#@t for brains" - OMG, I hope that isn't what is happening here.  I need all the grey cells I have left!

I will say this... and I don't want people to get any strange ideas about me - well, any more strange ideas... but I've noticed that BMs now are less dense, less formulated than they used to be.  Almost fluffy.  Yea, you heard me.  Fluffy.  Before the DS, they were dense, formed, larger in girth - that old college saying "working on a log" summed it up.  Now, it's just buckets of swamp mud on a hot August day.

It all depends on what I eat - but that mostly determines if it is loose or if I'm constipated.

Protein drinks and iron firm me up.  As far as volume I can be hit/miss.  Some days a few, some days nothing....

I don't feel malaborption has anything to do with the volume, just the "firmness" (for me anyway)

Thanks Jody.  Yes things are usually looser for me these days unless I don't get enough fat in.
