vit K

I know I am older than most of you and I have old lady/man skin.  Ya know, thin that rips when you brush up against anything and bruises every easily.  I was staying bruised all the time from my work around the barn.

Well, a while back when I was messing with my D3 and calcuim, major mom suggested I add K.  My Dr doesn't order K and I have no idea whether I was lacking or not but I ordered some and started taking it.  Wow, I don't know what it is doing for my bones but my skin is so much better.  I still rip but there isn't a huge long lasting bruise around it and I swear it heals so much quicker.  I am really impressed.  It may have nothing to do with WLS but for whatever reason, I think the K has made a significant difference in my bruising and skin healing.

Just thought it may help someone else too.

Dh's surgeon doesn't test for K either. About a week ago, I asked him about the bleeding he was having from his gums...so I googled and landed on a lack of K. So he has now added K back to his daily regimen. We had it on hand since I knew I was low...my surgeon does test K.

We don't know if he was lacking and it's still too early to be sure but we think we found the problem.

Glad you found a solution, Price...and both you and my dh are good reasons for having D tested.

mine doesn't say if it is K1 or K2 but it says as phytonadione and was in the bone  and joint health section.  I'll have to read the article and see if I can figure out which it is.  Even if it is the bone one, it is helping the blood and bruising stuff.

read, well, kind of read the article.  I had to laugh.  it suggested eating KALE.  No one eats more Kale than I do.  No one.  I have kale for breakfst almost every day and I can't keep up with it.  I had at least 4 cups, roasted for lunch. After you roast it, you can up 4 cups in a cup.  but still!!!

I always take k before a surgery to help with blood clotting and minimize bruising. Glad it's helping!
