Losing regain...supposed to be slow?

I am wondering what to expect regarding speed of weight loss after regain. I am 4 years out. Does my tool help me lose faster or am I now just like the average joe? I don't want to get discouraged because I think I should lose faster.

Also, am I mainly concerned with carbs vs. protein or should I be counting calories :/

Most people on this board don't count calories, but I've found that losing my regain has been totally due to my calorie restriction and exercise. I still aim for high protein and low carbs, but must count calories to get it done. I've lost 20lbs in the last year. I am sure though that it would have been more if I were more diligent. For instance, 1/2 of those pounds have been lost in the last few months alone.

Good luck

I think, at least for me, it is slow.  That is because we are now tiny and need so little to stay were we are, that to lose we have to cut back even more than that is really hard.  When you are eating 2000cal a day, it isn't hard to cut 500 but when you are eating 1500, cutting back 500 is very hard.  My resting rate is 1100.  I exercise so I burn a little more with 2 weight classes and a zumba or 2 plus my farm work, but it is hard to cut lower to lose.  Your tool will help you because you still can't eat much at a time and fill up quickly but you aren't going to lose like you did in the beginning, I don't think.

I would say average joe. You can eat more and everyone loses some malabsorption of calories. If you have the will to eat 800 calories a day without much restriction, you'll lose, but that's not every likely without a tiny tool. You CAN lose though!

I feel like I'm like the average Joe now and it is a lot slower.

I put all my food in myfitnesspal and try to stay around 1200 calories, over 100 grams of protein and below 50 total carbs.  Putting it in this just helps me keep up with it and calculate it.

I agree with the slow part.  We are  losing the "hard lard" because we don't really have that much to lose.  I don't feel like i malabsorb calories at this point.

Your tool is not going to make you lose faster. We lost fast early out because we couldn't eat much because our tummies were swollen and healing. Your pouch is mature now so you can eat more than .5 oz at a time so you aren't going to be happy on 400 calories a day. So losing .5-2 pounds a day just isn't going to happen!

Yes - slower.  I figure I have NO malabsorption anymore, but know if I get back on board with the plan, my pouch will keep me in check.  I find when I eat low carb, my pouch doesn't take as much to fill it up - and I stick to solid proteins (meat, fish, etc) that will stay longer with me.

I'm back on track with my eating after regaining about 15 pounds.  It is a slow process.  Average Joe here - just with a smaller tummy.
