Today is my 5 month anniversary.  To get my EWL I take my starting surgery wt of 232 lbs and subtract my goal wt of 126 lbs.  That leaves me with a EWL of 106 lbs.  Now to get my percentage of wt loss -  I divide my current  wt loss of 52 lbs by my EWL of 106 lbs. So as of today, if i have calculated this correctly, I have lost 49 % of my EWL.  Now I think that i am on track to lose 100 % of my EWL, however, i can't find that darn chart anywhere that tells you where you should be at certain points in time.  Can anyone point me to the right direction.  I have read other posts previously but can't find it now.

All help would be greatly appreciated.

I used to have it bookmarked but then OH did away with bookmarks.  I don't have time now but will look for it this evening.  Sounds to me like you are doing great.

It's 50% EWL by 6 months, so you are aread of schedule and doing fine.  You calculated the math correctly.

I don't remember the rest of the chart.  It's either 90% or 100% of EWL done by 12 months.

Don't get hung up on meeting certain numbers by certain months.  Everyone is different.  You may keep rolling by at a speedy rate to 90%, or slow down quite a bit after 70%.  It doesn't matter, as long as you are still losing a pound or two every week - then you will get there.

Keep in mind that we usually lose the first 50% rather fast.  The next 50% is at a slower rate.  The last 10% can be a struggle.

I agree. A lot can happen between 50% and 100%. As long as you are losing you are on the right track. And even if you are not, stalls are normal.

Great job so far

Thank you all for your encouragement and information.  I am upping my exercise and cutting some calories in hopes that i will continue a consistent weight loss.  I have just started using the myfitnesspal, com and wow, what a great tool.  It has really motivated me.  The past 5 months have had ups and downs with the downs coming over the last several weeks.  My head hunger seems to be out of control.  I am always looking for something to munch on.  I have found that i inadvertenely been eating too many cashews to curb the cravings.  Too many calories, but i am back on track.    Yeah.

Thanks and if anyone finds the site with the whole percentage chart, i would love to keep it for future reference.

While not the chart in question, there is this: http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss.html

On track to lose it all is 25% lost after 2 months, 50% after 6 months, and 80% at one year.

So yeah, you are doing great!

Here it is.  You put in your weight and height and it shows what is "expected" loss.
