Friday, just for fun
I have been overweight my entire life. My daughter had her sleeve done in November of last year and has lost 95 pounds. I am 5'2" and currently weigh 190, having lost 10 lbs during the last 10 days.
My children are 29, 13, and 11. My husband and kids are extremely supportive. I asked for and got a bicycle and helmet for Mother's Day!
I live in Southern NJ. We will vacation for two weeks in July in the Thousand Islands in Upstate NY. We stay in a cottage on an island called Round, and swim in a river and ride in our boat.
I am a music teacher in a middle school. I enjoy reading everyone's posts and take comfort in knowing that many people have done what I am about to do!
Ellen, Tues will be here before you know it. I know you are excited and we will be here to follow your wonderful journey.
That island sounds great. We had a lake house when I was a kid and we spent every summer there. I love a good lake much more than the beach.

I miss our Friday post. Thanks Price.
I am Linda and had RNY almost 4 years ago. Maintaining is a lot harder than losing! I try to stay high protein low carb. I love sweets so I cook a lot with the Carbquik Mix. I am almost 59 and feel better than I have in probably 30 years!! I lost 122 pounds total, but have regained about 3 1/2 that I am trying to get back off. I found that I have a love for walking/jogging/running. I took off during the winter months, but am trying to get started back. I was never an outside person because I could not stand the heat. I love the heat now!!
I live in Georgia and am married to my DH of 35 years. We have two grown children both married and 3 grandchildren - two 4 year old girls and a baby boy that is almost 2 weeks old. They are the love of my life!
I am looking forward to retirement in about 1 -2 years. I love working at a public library. I do all the administrative/accounting work. I don't really have a lot of plans for the summer except visiting my parents and hoping for a beach trip. This is the end of our fiscal year at work so it is pretty busy until August.
Next...
Linda, you bring so much to this group and were my wonderful angel. I hope you have lots of time to enjoy that new baby this summer. They grow up so fast.

Hmmm,
Lets see... I'm Jenni, I just had vsg on May 13th and just hit my first real stall. It's been a week and a day since I've lost even an ounce. I am 37 years old and if you look at my profile you will see I first got on OH in 2008. My weight has gone up and down since then but here I am on my way to a new healthy me IF I actually loose any more weight. I've only lost 16lbs and I'm freaking out a bit.
I plan on joining a gym on Monday when I get my check. I am bringing my bf and son with me to the gym as well as my daughter and her girlfriend :D I got the whole family in on it. :D that makes me very happy because everyone except my son is unhealthy weight. I can't wait to get started. Also I too am growing some veggies and some frui****ermelon, spaghetti squash, tomatos, and sweet banana peppers.
I'm glad to be here in this group. :D thanks for starting it.
Don't worry about the stall (I know, easy for me to say). They happen. If you are following your plan, you will lose. Have you read the article about % of excess weight, not pounds? I know it has been posted about every week. It really helps us lightweights see that we are right on track if not ahead of the game even though our heavier friends look like they are doing better with their 40# a month loss.

My name is Jennifer and I'm 42 years old. I live in Michigan with my husband and 3 daughters (ages 23, 16 and 10). My oldest has 3 children (a boy, 5 and two girls, 3 and 1), who are the loves of my life. I am a full time student pursuing a bachelor's in psychology.
I had rny in September 2012. My surgery weight was 247. I am down to 152. The surgeon would like me to get to 136 and so far, I think I can do it.
I don't eat bread, pasta, rice or any processed sugar. Occasional potatoes. I have lots of cheese, veggies, fruit and yogurt and of course different types of meat.
I walk between one and two miles a day and at school I always take the stairs. I consider my wls to be the best thing I ever did for myself and my only regret is not doing it sooner.
Jennifer
Welcome, Jennifer, glad you found us. Sounds like you are doing great and have a great plan going forward.
