Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with good choices during the Honeymoon Period.
I'm so sore this morning I couldn't hardly get out of bed. I am NOT a Physical Labor type of woman!!!! We haven't done our mulch for a few years because of DH not feeling well but we just couldn't put it off any longer. We didn't want to bother our SIL's so DH decided I could do this..... I helped shovel 2 truck loads of mulch and there isn't a spot on my body that doesn't hurt this morning. Honestly I have NEVER used a shovel before or even helped spread the mulch. Before WLS I wouldn't have even been able to get down and smooth the plastic or mulch around. I don't like hurting this way but it felt really good to be able to do it without moaning. I'm just a little worried about what project might be on his next list .....

I mix all my protein with water to save the calories, unless I am making protein hot chocolate. Then I do use almond or powdered milk. I use the mint cookie in shakes with ice, blended to death or in my decaf coffee as a creamer (mix in warm water first, then add to the coffee).
For the lemon tea, I like it with a stick of crystal light (mango peach) and 1/2-1 scoop of protein in about a cup of water, mix well with a spoon to reduce foam, add ice and continue to fill a 20 oz blender bottle. I do the same thing with Caribean cooler.

I mix all of my Protein in water. I'm not crazy about milk and I also don't want to add in the extra carbs and calories. The Lemon Tea is best with lots of ice (I like crushed). I use my shaker cup because I don't even notice the foam.
In the winter I do put some of the Mint Cookie in Hot Chocolate occasionally.
How did you like them?

I haven't tried protein coffee yet but have seen others that have. I do use protein as creamer for my coffee but not a full serving. I didn't get to try the lemon tea yet either, the day got away from me yesterday...I am finding it hard to do a meal plan and am in the trial and error phase still (10wks) figure will be in that phase for a long time:-). Although I don't use MyFitnessPal to log meals I have friended a couple of people on the VSG forum to see what they eat and that helps. I see you drink a lot of protein drinks and that works for you? I know there are a lot of people that say don't drink any but I am not sold on that. I was thinking of trying to keep it to one protein drink a day and food for the rest of my protein. Thanks for your responses!
I tried early out to get my Protein through food but I felt I was back on WW keeping track of my points. If I get all 4 of my Protein drinks in then I don't keep track of anything else I eat as long as I make good choices. Food is a weakness for me and it only makes me want more. If I tried to only eat food I would be over eating by now. At 4.5 years out my pouch still has a lot of restriction. For me protein drinks makes maintenance easy.

That makes a lot of sense. I am not sure if I could do it but it may be an option down the road. I agree it is hard to track things and I tend to over analyze things so it makes it even harder. I want to make sure get enough water, protein not too many carbs etc. Keep posting I love seeing what others are eating. I am getting to the tough part now. Lost 40+ lbs with 20+ to go and from what I read have 3 months left in the honeymoon period...
