It was FREAKING cold this morning and misty rain on top of it but it's cleared off to be a beautiful day.

may 13th was my surgery date and day of surgery I weighed 230. Today when I weighed myself I am 216.4

Last week: 182.5

this week:  180.5

 

I am now able to have "normal" food, not the old "normal" foods...tastycakes,chips, candy bars...you know the old "normal" but the new "normal" apple, peaches, Greek yogurt. I am nervous that I will forget the new way and fall backwards and I certainly don't want to do that!! Still got to remember to chew, chew and chew some more. Went food shopping tonight and wrote down what I plan on eating this week....I hope I stick with it. Just nervous about this next stage....for the rest of my life.

I keep thinking when I weigh this wt on the way up I felt so fat and ugly and this time coming down it doesn't bother me I guess because I know that I am going to pass this and continue to be healthy.

Good for you, Martha.

BE careful with fruit...it's sugar in disguise! Go to something like MyFitnessPal and plug in what you eat...apple or peach and then see how many grams of carbs (sugar) it has.

I'm not saying give it up completely but while you are in your honeymoon period, make it a treat...maybe once a month.

Thanks, eating fruit/veggies wasn't my usual eating habit.  Right now strawberries are in/coming in. Can't wait to grab my granddaughter and pick them.  I know corn isn't the greatest either. Still nervous about adding new foods feel like I am cheating and getting away with it.
