Hi everyone.  I had RNY on 12/13/12.  I'm 5 5 & I weighed 218.  Currently I'm at 159...so that's 59 lbs lost.  I feel like I should have lost more by now since I'm almost 5 months out.  The last month the scale has hardly moved & I know that stalls are normal - but I feel like every month I stall & that doesn't seem normal.   Please chime in & tell me what you think?  Should i have lost the rest of my weight by now?  I still have 20-30 more to go.

You are 5 months out and have lost about 2/3s of your excess weight.  You are doing fine.  You have to think about % of excess, not total # like our heavier friends.  I did slow way down about 5 months and found that I could eat the same calories but low carb and keep losing better.  But you will slow down.  You can keep losing for another year easily so not to worry.

You are doing great.  Almost 60 pounds in 5 months is fantastic.  It will slow down now so don't get frustrated, just stay on the program and it will come off.

Congratulations on your success so far!

You are doing great!  I was 54 when I had surgery, so I knew I would be a slow loser.  One of the things my surgeon told me was "do not compare yourself to others.  Everyone is different:  differnet genetics, body types, gender, age, activity levels, lifestyle..."  He told me take it one day at a time and do my best and follow the rules.  He said if I would do that I would be successful.  This is a life change.  I did not reach goal until I was 2 years out - maybe longer.

Congratulations on doing so well...you have a lot of losing time left... a lot.

Welcome to our LW Board!!!  Encouragement,  Advice and  Honesty is the norm on our Board.

You are doing Fantastic!!!   It took me over a year to get to goal.  If you took your measurements early out you should notice that for some strange reason we lose inches during stalls.  Sometimes our bodies just need a rest.

If you are in a long stall....increase your Protein for 3 days and then drop back down to your normal amount.  That usually breaks a stall.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!
