OK  here it is...I LOVE 1/2 and 1/2 in my coffee and tea...except I put a lot in there because I have big and I mean BIG mugs of coffee and tea ...one big coffee in the AM and one big tea in the afternoon... and I mean bigger then a vente Starbucks I  have a huge mug.LOL...anyhow I use 1/2 and 1/2 and make it nice a light and it's sooooooo good but wayyyyy tooo much fat and calories in that 1/2 and 1/2 and ultimately not very good for you....so my question to you all is what do you put in your coffee or tea that is creamy but low fat ...no sugar...and less calories... I was going to try soy milk...also I don't like regular milk of any kind ...although I would be willing to go back to it...PLEASE ADVISE..... THanks...SEAVIEW

They do have fat free half and half but I don't know how it tastes.  I'm no help.  I am addicted to sugar free Italian cream Coffee Mate and I use nearly a whole bottle every few days.  That has a lot of calories, too, but my coffee is my splurge and I won't give it up.  I also mix milk and protein powder to make my own kind of creamer.  It's not great but it will do and I get in more protein that way.

Rather than giving it up cold turkey, maybe you could wean yourself off of it slowly. I went from drinking tea with a lot of cream to no cream at all, and it's great. WIth coffee though I can't do without the cream, so I've given up coffee all together.

Hope this helps

Like you, i worry about the added calories; i tried almond milk (I make my mint cookie ice cream out of this as it only has 30 calories a cup) but I don't like the taste in my coffee.  Currently i use skim milk and a small amt of SF creamer.  Also use SF dry creamer sometimes too.  I worry about how much splenda I use too!!

Good luck.....

I have tried almond milk but it's too watery...I agree coffee is a tough one because for me it has to be creamy and I probably won't give it up...I only drink coffee in the AM so perhaps I will try some of the artificial stuff without sugar...also I will work on tea without anything in it...that will cut down considerably on the cream...I am next going to try soy milk because I used to like it in coffee...OH this ain't over.. I will report back on my findings... I don't want anything with too many carbs though or real sugar...and yes I am a Splenda ADDICT...have I tried alternatives...Stevia etc...YES and I don't like them at all..OH well I am from the TAB generation so I think I'm doing better with Splenda...even though it is poison...LOL ...thanks to all...SEAVIEW

Well, protein coffee of course.  since I started that, I just use it in my coffee or really decaf, not coffee.  I mix about 1/2-3/4 cup of warm water with 1.5 scoop of protein with a spoon and use that to "cream" 2 large cups of decaf (all of a 5 c coffee maker)  I use vanilla, chocolate, mint cookie, chocolate carmel.  Makes the coffee creamy and gets the protein in too.  You could try mixing it with almond milk or something like that but I am ok with water.

I am drinking coffee with almond milk it for the very first time right this minute.  It is "OK".  I really like fat free half and half but had none in the fridge today.  I have used evaporated skim milk in the can also.  It is also "ok"   I imagine soy milk would taste fine also

If you are low carbing the fat in 1/2 & 1/2 or even heavy whipping cream doesn't matter. Carbs make you fat not the fat in your food.

Yeah, antiestablishment thinking.  :)

Yes, a lot of low carbers use whipping cream or coconut milk (the kind in the can).  I have thought about trying a cocunut creamer...jusy hate buying someting I may waste.  I love my coffee and am not giving it up.  I loved my diet coke and do not miss it like I thought I would but then I wasnt a coffee drinker post surgery. I am drinking a lot of decaf though after one large cup of the real stuff first thing.

Let us know what you find as I am curious and open to options.

Look at the labels of "low fat" you'll find they have more sugar in them than regular creamers.

I don't skimp on my creamer.  Never have and never will.  I do not like the "wateriness" of sugar free creamers.  I don't use much, but enough to flavor it.

But - like Price said - try protein powder.  I drank protein coffee for YEARS.  you can mix it up with SF syrups to change it up.  My favorite was chocolate protein with a dash of SF peppermint paddy syrup.  Mint Chocolate coffee!
