Yes, Munson medical Center in Traverse City MI uses the DaVinci robot assisted lap surgeries.  It is safe. :)  Best to you.

Some surgeons think it it's a gimmick but they are the surgeons with "magic hands". For the mere mortals, I think it helps. 

Hello! I know I'm coming into this late but I had my surgery done with the DaVinci Robot. My surgeon does all his surgeries with it.  It was wonderful. No pain after surgery and my incisions are so tiny. I had my gall bladder out 13 years ago and the pain was so bad. I thought it was going to be like that but it wasn't and I swear it was because of the robot assisted surgery.
