Surgery Thursday
I am sorry about the stress of the upcoming surgery and the RNY surgeon not REALLY listening to you during f/up surgery appts. The good thing about the upcoming surgery is that this will hopefully resolve the hernias and then it will be done and over and you will hopefully be feeling like YOU again with no pain and worry of "what is this".....sending prayers for healing......

swinging critters for you Dasie. I wondered where you had disappeared to.
I've been disappointed with my surgeon for the last month. I explained the pains I was having and he ordered a CT scan took him 2 weeks to read it and tell me he saw 2 issues and ordered an ultra sound. He ordered me some lortab to get me through the pain but only orders 4-5 days worth at a time and gets mad when I call for a refill while I'm waiting for these tests. Spoke with him the other day when he got very flippant with me and said it wasn't "surgery related" so he wasn't sure what I expected him to do? Um seriously? why did you bother to order additional testing if it isn't something you are going to concern yourself with when I've been in constant pain for a month and have missed more work from this then I did the surgery?!
Then I realized, he's a cutter, and a darn good one! I couldn't of picked anyone better to do my rny. however, I think there is a reason he does bariatrics and hernias he doesn't actually have to talk to an awake patient much. While his bedside manner was fine after the rny he really has none otherwise. I think that's why some become cutters. I have appts with other doctors now, even though he offered to do the gall bladder surgery if the tests came up with stones, which both the CT and the ultrasound did. I can't be bothered with someone who can't be bothered to help me when I'm in so much pain.
I hope your upcoming surgery goes well and the recovery is easier than you imagine! Please keep us posted.
I hope yours is resolved as well. You will have gallbladder surgery?
