Good Morning. Just because you can doesn't mean you should
When you have to take over where you WLS leaves off is one of the hardest parts of maintenance. When they say train yourself to live the new lifestyle while you're losing is one of the best pieces of advice the medicals offer us. Just because your restriction "lets" you eat more doesn't mean you should eat more. Just because you don't suffer the consequences after you eat sugar doesn't mean you should eat sugar. Guys, you have to be mentally tough and not totally use your WLS as a crutch. If you're not to the point of needing counseling at least use positive self-talk to keep yourself on track.
On another note, have you seen some of the befores and afters and you think to yourself, I wouldn't be caught dead dressed like that! It's another case of just because you can dress like a hooker doesn't mean you should. Treat yourself with respect and dignity and dress the part. Dress for success.
Live up to your potential today and have a great week. : )

I am horrible about falling off the wagon for a day or two. I always get back on, but the temptations can be so great. Ugh. Seems like I would learn but even if it is a small amount of the wrong thing, it is going to bite me in the butt. Saturday I didn't eat much, but it was almost all wrong except my protein drinks. And Sunday morning it showed on the scale. So Sunday I was back on track and the scale is headed in the right direction but I didn't have to go there to begin with. Seems like I would learn. One lesson learned is to pack my own food. I was relying on my hostess and that was part of it. Of course I can't blame it all on that when I picked up the bag of chips when there were veggies available instead and I grabbed the cookie.
So next weekend, I am gone again and there will be junk out and they provide lunch and I will take my own food and make better choices.
And clothes, yeah. I even hesitate to wear a tank top to work out with these baggy arms. I love all the cute workout stuff but unfortunately, it won't be showing up on this old body, no matter how much muscle is under this skin.

I don't always make the right food choices especially where I eat so little still. I do like my protein drinks and that always gets me back on track.
As far as the clothing goes I agree with Price my arms and legs have to much skin to be showing any of it. I look so much better covered up! Great reminder Gina, thanks

ok have you been looking at my new after pictures?! lol. Sorry but my mother said if you got it... flaunt it! hahaha
In all seriousness prior to surgery I read the line "just because you can doesn't mean you should" I have kept that first and foremost in my mind throughout my journey thus far and have posted it to others repeatedly. It is the one sentence that made the biggest impact on me.
Brutally honest friends can also "make you think" - lol. I came back from MI and was told "yep - your butt and thighs are bigger"... I know the scale went down then back up even farther when I was there. So - back to basics. I can tell in my clothes too.
Need to go to the grocery store tonight. I also need to STOP eating out. At least my snacking has stopped. I'm also going to start tracking my food again.
My birthday is in 2 weeks... I'm going to be getting together with some of my motorcycle friends and don't want these extra 5-6 lbs on me for that. Nothing like a little motivation....
Oh - BTW - put a deposit down on a place on Evergreen Mills by Gum Springs Road.... I'll be moving in about a month.
