Should I be knocking on wood? (Also posted on VSG Forum)

So for months I've heard about the dreaded 3 week stall.  I haven't hit it yet and I'll be a month out tomorrow.  I'm a slow loser so far, but I also haven't really exercised yet which I plan to start this weekend once my brother is out of my workout room (recovering at my house from bypass surgery).

I lost 11.8 pounds on the 2 week skim-milk diet so I got rid of a lot of water weight before the surgery and since I've lost 13.9.  I'm okay with losing only 2-3 pounds a week as long as my weight is only going in one direction!  I'm wondering how many people don't hit a stall and if it's more common to not hit a stall in lightweights that are slow losers.

Thanks!

Be very happy with 2-3lbs a week.  I lost steadily with no stalls ever.  It did slow down but I never had a week that I didn't lose until I got way below goal.  I was really, really good about protein and I guess that is why.  But yes, there are some of us that don't stall.

Most define a stall as 3-4 weeks without a loss I believe.  I have never gone more than 2 weeks without showing a loss, so far no stalls but I am sure there are some in my future :( lol

i'm a slow loser, always have been no matter the diet. i though i'd lose weight so fast you know not having more that 1/2 my stomach but nope... it's a slow going process; for me anyway. i had my surgery jan 21 2013 and have lost 20 lbs. but in defense of the surgery, i'm still having trouble getting 65+oz of water per day and i've been so insanely busy with work that i haven't been doing my daily walking either.

Look back a day or so and ready Southern Lady's post about percentages of weightloss, not pounds.  You are doing great.

I had one at 2 months.  For a month I did not lose any weight, but clothes fit better during that time.  I had read about the early stalls, so I didn't panic.

I would think stalls are more common in light weights and slow losers.  And stalls are not necessarily bad.  My body changed shape during the stall.  I didn't lose any weight, but I lost inches.

Just because a 3 week stall is common doesn't mean everyone gets it. In fact, I think it's less than half the people who stall then. (I am guessing it's more like 20% who get it but I haven't done any formal study so that's only a guess.)

I never stalled at all in fact. The 3 week stall is one you can't control. It's about your body's reaction to the surgery. Some people's bodies freak out and they start retaining water like crazy in reaction to the diet or the surgery or moving on to soft or regular foods.

But a lot of "stalls" after the 6 month mark are about people slacking off IMO. So don't slack off and you'll be fine! mail

Also, you aren't a slow loser. 2-3 pounds is about right once you get down past a certain % of body weight which, at this point, you have.

I'm a slow loser and a slow gainer.  I've always lost and gained in very small numbers.

I didn't have any stalls either but I stuck to protein, small meals, and I seldom had "bad" carbs.

If you haven't measured yourself yet this is the time.  I don't understand why but during those stalls is usually when you lose inches. Strange but true.
