Is it ever going to happen????

I am so tired of whineing and complaining and crying and pouting over this surgery. I am sick of scales and weigh ins I'm tired of miserable staff at the doctors office. I am tired of the fat life and want my new tummy. I'm so sad over this, I have been trying for a year now to get this surgery and it feels like it is never going to happen for me. I have my NEXT weigh in on Monday after Easter, If I NEVER see a scale again it will be too soon. I fear I will NEVER know if I reach goal weight because I am so sick of weights and scales that I fear I will never step foot on one again after the mandatory weigh ins. I'm so stressed all the time and so emotional. I'm snapping at everyone at the littlest things and I'm miserable all of the time. I dread each and every doctors appointments or weigh ins. I'm obsessed with weighing myself and do it nine or ten times a day. I'm stressed over whether or not to eat or do liquids or just fast. I stress what to eat, what to drink, how much to exercise, if i should exercise. EVERYTHING!!!! I'm trying to continue some sort of normalcy but its not working. I was given two seperate surgery dates. yesterday was the first, which was rescheduled due to military obligations on the doctors part, the next will be april 10th which the doctor postponed until further notice. I'm very emotional watching the first date come and go especially since I befriended someone with the same date. I listen as she is coming home today after a successful surgery and now I am happy for her but sad for me. Then I have to make it past my next surgery date knowing that I have NO idea when my real surgery date will be. UGH 20 lbs could take a year to loose or just a few weeks but the way its going I have several  more months before he will schedule the surgery.

"Is it ever going to happen?' afraid not with this surgeon because for some reason he doesn't want to do surgery on you. Medicare? I don't know, but there is definitely a problem. I totally don't know why you don't just move on. How could it be worse than this? even waiting a few more months with another surgeon couldn't be any worse, esp since you have no definite surgery date now anyway. Afraid I just don't get it...

Sounds like it's time for Plan B. Who was that other surgeon? The current one is just jerking you around.

I see the new surgeon on the ninth. Looks like I will have several more months of dieting with new surgeon but I'm ok with that if I know it's really going to happen

I've never heard such craziness.  I am so sorry you are having to deal with this.  We all feel like it is a never ending process but yours really seems to be.  Hope you get this resolved soon.

Remind me again, is it the doctor or your insurance that is making you lose weight before surgery?  I have Medicare, too, and I never had to lose an ounce before either of my surgeries.  No pre op diet or prep, nothing.  I don't get the obsession with making an obese person prove they can diet before they have WLS.  Isn't the point of WLS is that it is to help us eat right?  If we could do that without WLS why would be bother?

If it is the doctor then you need to keep trying until you find one that doesn't have such arbitrary rules.  Even if you have to go a distance it would be better then having to play whatever game this guy is playing.

dr requires the weight loss. I didn't know when i first started going to him that this was not an insurance requirement that it was his requirement. I gained wieght when i quit smoking and now I'm about 16 lbs heavier than I was before I quit and he wants me to  loose 20 lbs so that i'm below starting weight before he starts me on a two week pre op liquid diet. I don't understnad it. I'm going to another doctor on the ninth and I'm hoping that he doesnt require the 20 lb weight loss or pre op diet. Did medicare require supervised diet for any length of time cuz my doctor said that I had to do that for six months??  I have probably 2 years worth of myfitnesspal that I could print off if need be.
