Is it time 2 take a vacation

I have a history of running myself into  the ground .. then basically HAVING to take a break .  Rather than waiting around for the inevitable disappointment arising from trying to do too much ... maybe I should listen to the warning signs and give myself time to rest and recuperate ?

What do YOU think ?  How is it even POSSIBLE to set aside R&R time with deadlines looming etc ...coolindecision ... then I think of the ARMY  and how essential THEY consider for even wartime soldiers to have time to recharge ...

Please share how YOU handle this dilemma ... thanks !

Yep, you have to force yourself to take some R&R time.  I had a boss one time tell me 2 weeks was perfect for him. 1 week was too little and 1 month was too long.  lol   I think he was about right. Two weeks away from the stress helps.  What deadlines can you push to the right so you can recharge your batteries?

I think the first order of business for me is daily/weekly stress relief.  Going to the gym, running, walking, whatever it is that you can do to take mini vacations.  I feel like I am somewhere else every time I am with the ponies.  I purposefully don't think business when I am riding/driving/barn work.  Then add to that some real exercise like Zumba and muscle pump.  Then add a long weekend here and there, a week here and there and I stay relatively ok.  Since i work at home, I really need those weekend away from time to time.  Even being gone a week, I start stressing about what is happening at home that I am missing so I can't imagine being gone 2 weeks.  But this works for me.

Working 3 days a week I feel like every week in a 4 day weekend.  I love my hours.  I have free time during the week to get things done and something to do on the weekends when I don't do anything else anyway.

My kid was gone last night so I did what I love to do.  I came home from work, got in my jammies, made dinner and did nothing productive.  I'm afraid I enjoy being alone way too much.  Don't take this wrong but I prefer my own company to that of most people.  Well my company and my animals.  Maybe when my kids are all out of the house I'll be a part time hermit.

i totally love to be alone also. Love it when DH is OOT, and I don't have dinner to make or anything to do ,but what i want to do. Love being with him and family too but don't hate to be by myself.

Three day weekends have always worked for me, especially with my guy. A little romance wakes me back up.
