Welcome. We love newbees.
My suggestions would be to decaf and decarb before surgery day. Learn to sip tiny sips. Stop drinking with meals. Get a full set of labs before surgery so you have a baseline. Read and ask questions. We are here to help.
Be happy you are scheduled early. I would hate to have to wait around all day. It gives you less time to get nervous.

I didn't stop coffee before. And when I had the surgery, I could not drink coffee.
I had a terrible headache the whole time. It didn't quit till I started sipping diet ice tea. And that was a ways out. The worst thing about my hospital time was that nagging headache. Wish I had stopped before my surgery.
Good luck on your surgery.
Welcome Tanna,
Sounds like we are/were the same size/weight. Don't worry about feeling nervous, just a sign that you are normal, making a big change, and on your way to a beautiful new you.
My advice.... Pre surgery: dump your trigger foods, they are no longer your friends....Post surgery at the hospital: take your time walking at the hospital. The meds are going to masque the pain and you'll think you're capable of much more than you are. Walk, just take it easy.....Post surgery at home: enjoy every challenge that you conquer, soon you'll be rewarded for your hard work.....Forever: don't take the tool for granted, post on this board for support, and find a good thrift store (you'll be donating and buying during your weight loss, oh and find one with a fitting room, you can't trust yourself to know your size)
Good luck!!

35 pounds of regain!!! 30 lost!!! Just a little more to go.
I just had my surgery. I am 5 days out. I would say to bring in a log so you can log your intake. Bring a measured cup so you can see how you are doing. Sip all day long. Tiny sips. If the cold water isn't doing it for you try room temp. Take some lip balm. It is really dry in there. Bring your own pillow. Theirs is not what your used to. Don't have your family carry everything around wait until your in your room. You wont realize what your using the first day. If you use a cpap machine bring your own. Theirs is not what your used to. Good luck.
