gardening time
I know it won't last but it was 77 here yesterday. I got brocalli, spinach and lettuce sets put out and still have kale and collards in the garden. I am so ready for spring. Anyone else cutting their grocery bill and growing it yourself? Plus, then you can control what you are eating, between fertilizer and pest control. And, all those green goodies have basically 0 carbs and lots of fiber to keep us regular.

We have snow in the forecast today and tomorrow but I'm thinking I want to grow some Hanover tomatoes, green onions and bok choy this year. They will have to be container grown.
Have fun, Price.

My first garden was in a container, many many years ago. It was wonderful because, of course, we used basically potting soil which was fresh and not depleated in any minerals, etc. and had no weed seeds in it. Wi**** was all that simple.
Tomatoes of course come much later, like after Mother's day around here. I've never grown bok choy but onions can be put in early like the greens. I assume bok choy can too. I forgot about onions but I need to get some sets and get them in. I love being able to go out and get one when you need it.

I'm not even gonna bother this year...so not worth the effort to even try here. However, we are definitely looking to have enough space to have a garden in our new home for next spring!
And yes, it was a beautiful day!

With a move, I don't much blame you. Hard to get excited when you would just be planting for someone else.

I don't grow veggies but I do grow flowers in a flower bed...mostly zinnias, sunflowers and morning glories. I SOOOO want to plant my seeds but am afraid of a future freeze. Last few years I waited until May 1st. Hate waiting but this weather here is so unpredictable....although you are right Price...it is currently fantastic out. Next year Liz!!!!

yep, I try to wait until Mother's day but sometimes the weather is soooooo nice I sneak in some warm weather stuff early. this is still way too early. We have lots of freezes ahead, like this next week.
