OK, so DH is a runner. He has completed two half marathons and wants to do the Rock & Roll 1/2 in San Diego 6/2/13. He asked if we could go to San Diego for our anniversary which is that Monday, and throw a race in for fun. I said OK, and now he, and a few friends are trying to talk me into doing it too. So guess what, 1/2 marathon=1/2 crazy. I'm going to do it. I may have to crawl across the finish line, but here goes. Lesson, never say never. I've disliked running since I was a kid, but I live a new life now. With new life comes new challenges.

Good luck to you.  I always say that the only way you will catch me running is if there is someone with a knife after me.

I loved running way back when but wore my knees and hips out.  Just take care of yourself.  To finish is to win.  But don't get hurt and not be able to enjoy exercise for a long time because of one run.  Listen to your body.

I promise to take it slow. I just want to finish, the time doesn't matter. I have to be careful, I started skating again and that is a higher priority.

I used to love running, back in the day.  My knees can't take it now.

Good Luck, I bet you will have a great time. 

Are you training for this?  If you have an iPhone, there are lots of apps to help you get up to that mileage.  The most I've done is a 10K-ran some and walked some.

I started on the treadmill last night. I walk on it all the time, but last night, I ran for just a few minutes. Then I got to thinking, what have I done?????

Remember - you'll be at goal then too and that will make it MUCH easier!  I bet with all this training you'll be one fit, trim, and ready to run hot mama!!
