Well, I am at a place in my journey where I feel this would be worth the funds I'm about to spend. Most of you know how much I enjoy ice skating, but I've forgotten how to do more than basic stuff. So, tonight, and every Thursday night, I will drive an hour each way to participate in lessons. The rink I will be using also has a perk, if you are a student, public sessions are free any month you are in class. So, this means that when I'm in the area, I can drop in even if the time is short. I need to relearn a lot so I can teach my granddaughter more when I have the opportunity to visit. Yes, it is quite a drive, but I did a similar drive to Kaiser's options classes for 3 months. This is just going to be way more fun.

Sounds like a fun way to get exercise in.  I'm sure it's good cardio.

How fun!  I've lived in the south for most of my life and though we do have indoor ice rinks, I've never been coordinated enough to skate, not even with roller skates.

But, when thinking of some fun ways to exercise, ice skating sounds perfect!

Keep us updated on how it's going!

Thanks, Diana

I loved my lessons, at least the first 10 years or so. Eventually my lack of talent did in my interest level.

Anyway, what level are you at?

I grew up in the Bay Area of California and the local mall had a skating rink.  I LOVED GOING...i was the youngest of 6 kids so no money for lessons...but I friend had them and I would tag along with her...I think I picked up the moves better than she did just from watching....lol...wow...that was so much fun...I wonder if I would be able to pick that up again....hummm have to look into where the nearest rink is and see whats what...

But good for you to pick up the thing you love and then be able to teach your granddaughter...she will love it I am sure...
