love the closet purging

Well, I had to purge my closet again. I'm loving this "problem." I noticed that some of the things I had purchased a few weeks ago at a thrift store were now too big, so they went to the giveaway box. I work in the same shopping center as a rescue mission thrift store. They were having a half price sale today, so off I went. They have a fitting room which makes things easier. I got 3 pair of jeans that fit now, size 12, and 2 pair for later, size 10. I also got a sweater to keep at work for times my desk is cold. I had originally told DH that my goal size was a 12, and he told me to wait and see what my body decided to do. Well, I'm glad I listened because a size 12 is here now.

Linda,

I went from a 12 to an 8...skipped 10 altogether and only 2 weeks between the 12 and the 8.

I spent the first few months in purge mode...thankfully I have stopped now. I need some things but the bulk is already new.

I did keep old tshirts to wear around the house...I am messy and tend to ruin them so old ones are what I wear when doing things like cooking, cleaning, etc. And no one but me and dh see them falling off me. mail

I've got a few of those shirts too. DH has some shirts that are too big that he uses when he runs a race. He can wear them to stay warm, then he just pitches them.

Those last sizes really do go fast, much faster than the early ones do.  I love to shop now, at thrift stores.  I can't bare the sticker shock of real stores.  but at this point, there is nothing I need and I don't have chances to wear what I have.  It's a new situation for me for sure.

I am thinking that if I can keep finding decent work clothes at thrift stores even after I hit goal, why not. I could spend money on other things instead. Visits to see the grandchildren come to mind. Plane tickets are expensive.

I literally got rid of everything  but my socks and shoes.  I loved it!  Actually some of my shoes are looser and  may not need to go.

Even my shoes had to go...I was able to keep my socks but have some knee highs that are now THIGH HIGH! Actually, thinking about it, my socks were the ONLY thing that didn't change size. Rings, bras, underwear, outer clothes, coats, shoes, heck even gloves all changed.

Oh, my gosh, my rings are just falling off of me.  I don't wear my engagement ring anymore at all because I'm afraid of it falling off.  I guess I need to make a trip to the jeweler.
