Good Morning. No intention of freezing my skinny butt off

i wonder what they're going to do with the places that have no power?  Go back to the old "vote by card" and count them by hand?  That would be CUMBERSOME!  But doable

That may be their only option.

I know that one night we lost the computers for about the last 3 hours. We had to haul out the paper application for ballot (that people will be using tomorrow) and have them sign. During early election all polling places are connected to the master database thru an online system. We still voted people...but had to call EACH person into the main office to check to see if they were registered and where so we could give them the correct ballot. Since our county covers a couple of state house districts, it did make a difference as to which one they got. However, the actual poll booths are independent of the computers and have their own battery backup system. However, all provisional ballots have to be counted by hand. And we had a BUNCH of them.

I just hope we don't have a hanging chad type issue due to the problems caused by Sandy.

I'm with Jody - I always vote absentee. I do miss the excitement of standing in line but this year I just want it to be over!

I'm in Oregon.  All vote by mail.  I cast my vote 2 weeks ago.  And the funny thing is, this is the first election I can remember where we haven't been bombarded by commercials, signs and junk mail telling us who to vote for.  When I read my ballet I didn't even recognize some names.  In the past they would have been plastered all over.  I only started getting some mailings in the last week.  I still can count on one hand the number of commercials and almost none were on the local level.  It's like they don't even want to waste money campaigning.  I guess Oregon isn't that big in the scheme of things.  I wouldn't be surprised at all with a very small turn out.  It is almost as if there isn't an election going on.

Will malabsorption may stop for RnY and lessen for DS, those of us with non-malabsorptive surgeries lose weight and keep it off so malabsorption is just part of it.

IMO and in IME the main tool of WLS is restriction because somehow the restriction provides hunger control and the key to keeping weight off is hunger control. (We have theories as to how the restriction provides hunger control but we're still learning and don't know definitively).
