November 1st already? Summer is a blur and last time I checked it was Spring. Dang, what a fast year! Other than the devastation of Sandy, what sticks out in your mind about this last year? It can be WLS related or not.

I think the general negativity of the news bombarding us all the time sticks out in my mind. It doesn't really matter the topic--always negative. I was sitting here trying to come up with national or world level positives, and I guess the most positive thing I can think of is that a Arab nations actually sent women to compete in the Olympics this year. I was excited to see it and kept thinking "you go, girl and show 'em what you got, baby" when I saw them marching in with their nation's flag or caught a glimpse of them competing.

I had a pretty sucky year with the exception of a very successful WLS experience. I'm sticking with victory as my number one thought/memory for 2012.

I feel like the older I get, the faster time seems to fly by!!

I do no****ch the news much anymore. I know I probably should because I never know what is going on until someone tells me but it has just gotten so bad..

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Wasn't it JUST January yesterday, LOL.

Seriously, days crawl but the months and years FLY by and it goes faster as I get older.

Today is IT...the last day of early voting. We will be longer getting out tonight as we don't just shut down, we actually CLOSE down. All machines are packed up to be picked up tomorrow and sent out to individual precincts to be used on Election Day.

Stay WARM!

Yeah ... and I thought to myself I can only IMAGINE the overtly sexist and woman-hating crap U must have waded thru to get here  and its SUCH  a shame  U have to compete in a Burquaa  so U have to come in last .   Too bad U were so isolated U never had a chance to REALLY  compete on a world class level  and  develop Ur  awesome rare God-given talents .... nor will U EVER have that chance now .

It's crazy that it's November and the year is almost over. I does go really fast and maybe it's because I'm constantly looking ahead to what's coming in the future. DD's talking about Competition Season starting next week, Dreading Election Day but glad it's going to be over,  Planning/Shopping for Christmas, Excited about a new Grandson in January, Anticipating our Disney cruise in April, etc. etc. It's as though I can't enjoy one thing before I'm off on the next.

I watch the Today Show in the morning to see if anything news worthy is happening but I rarely watch News before bed.  I have enough things going on in my life that keep me awake at night.

Well I had a wonderful summer making beautiful landscaping thats now been devastated by Sandy .  But so wha****erfront house is still standing (  albeit w two windows missing no heat, no electric, no GAS  even available for the generator or cars ... and five feet of standing water in the basement lol ... ) Oh and our dock is literally ALL over the place.

Which makes me value the pics and memories of the beauty all the more from the summer .

I think when we live a rich full life every day .... even a month can seem like a YEAR .  These  last 60 days making art have been  more fulfilling for me than the previous 15 years .

For me time is VERY elastic .  I don't believe in letting myself be sidelined by age-related prejudice any more than by sexism or perennial frustration , boredom or depression ( too often all three are related I suspect) .

I think the trick is  to make the most of each and every day and keep contributing and being maximally creative.  I see  a dozen 90 plus (even one 100 plus year old) artists every day at my school  spry as can be, happy  and incredibly youthful ... running up and down the steps with the nineteen year olds broken heart  between classes ...
