Good Morning. What's on your list?

For those of us on the east coast, you probably have a list of things you must do to get ready for this "perfect storm".   We debated about raking leaves prior to the storm or waiting until after. Waiting until after won. We're going to brave the grocery stores and Walmart early this morning and I'm going to pay bills and put out extra bird seed and suet. I think all the potential flying objects are removed or moved--laundry and maybe I'll make a pot of beefy veggie soup for the week. We have plenty of extra water stored up, batteries and lanterns, etc...check.

What do you have to get done this weekend?

This is our club's big weekend of driving.  I am heading out this morning to drive in SC, spend the night, and going to a drive on the way back home.  We are predicted to just get the wind part of the storm.  And the cold front coming from the other direction but that's ok.

You folks in the storms path, get your stuff together and stay safe.  Hopefully it won't sit over you like they are predicting for days.

I hope you're OK. I'm off to get some vitamin C shortly (just 250mg I'll take it twice a night with each liquid iron dose). I'm hoping to get my glasses adjusted, as I finally figured out it was my eyelashes making the lenses dirty - I have quite long lashes!!

I have very dry eyes and before I go to bed I put in this stuff which is 95% petrolium jelly and it my glasses filthy!! Next weekend I'm trying different contact lenses in the hope I can return to wearing lenses (I've tried quite a few dailies including the best Johnson & Johnson ones - I'm going to try their fortnightlies, Oasys, as they're made of a better material).

BTW my eye problems aren't related to my DS as the issues started about 10 months before I got switched - been wearing contacts for 18 years and despite always wearing the best lens recommended to me by the optician it finally caught up with me

I hope you find the right fix for your eyes. My eyes got better post-op, even with my age, and now I only have to wear glasses for distance--don't even wear my contacts anymore.  I think it's partly due to getting my vitamin A up and partly due to blood sugar / diabetes being resolved by the DS. Good luck with your situation.

 

We have poll worker duty today! We only have 6 hours today and it's an away game for the University of TN so who knows HOW many will show...esp since the game starts at noon and is being carried on TV. I suspect we won't be that busy compared to last Sat...or if we do, it will be after the game is over.

ONE more week (4 days) of early voting then we have a break.

I'm gonna come home and start laundry almost as soon as we walk in the door! Tomorrow we have the puppy park, and shopping so I won't have much time for laundry in all that. I also need to make something that will carry over a few days.

I just got out of bed-9am!! Only day i get to sleep in some. I do not normally sleep that late.

We went to a revival Magic show with our DS and his family last night. This morning we have to pick up a birthday cake and go to DH's person he visits 96th birthday party this afternoon.

Tonight we are going to a wedding reception.

Sometime this weekend I need to atleast clean the bathrooms, cook something to eat next week, wash clothes and must do some more work before traveling to my new addition to my job Monday morning.

No contract award yet. They have officially advertised the federal job now. It's open for 7 days and then will close. I'm still very much torn about making this decision.

 

I need to get things unpacked.  Yea, you'd think I would have already done that, but I've been waiting for the house to get in better order first.  I think it's about there.  I'd like to get the 2nd bedroom cleaned out.

Still on baby watch.  She's miserable.  Her girlfriend had her baby yesterday, now she's the last of the 'group' who is/was pregnant.  She has such terrible heartburn and Wynn is being a little poop lately.  Not sure if she's able to tell something is going to happen soon or what's going on with her.  

I've been worried about my LWs and the storm. Keep us updated when you can!

It's 10 o'clock and I'm still relaxing in bed watching the news and catching up on friends. DH is hunting and the house is so quiet. Getting my hair cut, nails done, doing my Moms pills, and getting a few groceries when I finally getting moving.
