Hello to all of our Lightweights!!!  If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!!    Besides my tool,  I count  Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!!   AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!!  THEY ARE ADDICTING!!  THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!!  THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with good choices during the Honeymoon Period!

Sunday Morning in Western PA is a little chilly and wet but we are expecting the storm to hit tomorrow.  I have my last vacation day planned for Tuesday( I have to take them by Nov. 1st).....I told my family to remind me to take them all in the summer when the weather is beautiful.

OH is acting so crazy!  Double spacing and so jumpy.  On my IPAD there isn't a Message Board link listed above so I have to go out and then back in to get another post.  I wrote to them and she said her IPAD was working so I needed to explain myself better.  She sound a little grouchy....I wonder if they are getting a lot of complaints.

Welcome to M&M!!!   I know you are a newbie so I'll try to go easy on you...kiss.   I LOVE my WL's so please don't get offended by anything I write.

Every Surgeon or NUT has their own advice and of course I have mine....LOL.  You have to do what is best for you!!!

I am a little worried about your carbs.  Early out you should concentrate on Protein.  Find some Protein snacks like jerky, meat sticks, cheese etc. instead of slider foods like popcorn that aren't of benefit to you.  Is your quiche crustless?

Are you keeping track of your Protein, calories, carbs etc. on one of the calculator sites?  It is good to keep track of those early out so you can get a good idea of where you are at and it really helps when it's time for maintenance.

I can't honestly say this is true but I've read it many times that our bodies can't absorb more that 40 grams of Protein at a time so you might want to consider drinking 2 Protein drinks instead of 1 with 60 grams.

No offense taken, I can tell you are trying to help!!

Quiche is crustless and tiny.  1 mini muffin tin sized.  Veggie carbs  a little onion and mushroom

I have read that the 40 gram limit is false on other discussions,  sometimes I drink it in a few sessions.  Shakes are Not my favorite things but necessary to hit my protein target.

Popcorn is my salt fix, It is the only carbs I am planning today, 1/4 to 1/3 of a bag this evening.  I do use cheese and meat sticks sometimes. Have not tried beef yet except hamburger and it made my stomach hurt for hours so jerky scares me.  Pork (ham and chops) makes me sick for hours too, I wished I could throw it up.   My quantity of intake is very limited for solids < 1 oz still, so I tend to choose yogurt and shakes so my stomach is happy. frown Fish and shrimp agrees with me, but again must be less than 1 oz or 2-3 small shrimp.

I am going to make up my shake in a few minutes.  It is way past lunch time.  That never used to happen pre op HA HA.  I use the nutrition part of this site for tracking.  Not every day but I do look at it.  Thanks for caring

PS here is the Quiche I made this morning

My boys each ate 6 of them lol  I could barley eat 1

Candy's Breakfast Mini Quiche    (teenage boy approved)

In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine

5 Eggs, scrambled (raw)
sprinkle of dried Basil and  Oregano
Pepper to your  taste  (I don’t use salt because of salty meats and cheese used later)

In a medium skillet

1 teaspoon Butter to sauté onion
½ cup sweet Onion, minced.  Sauté onions in butter till clear. Remove from heat

Add to skillet:
1 can Mushrooms, minced

2 precooked sausage patties, finely cut

½ cup real bacon bits

Dump contents of skillet into egg mixture, stir to combine.  Spoon into mini muffin  pan

Preheat oven to 375 F. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until firm.  24 space mini muffin tin (mine is non stick from Pampered Chef).  Grease pan if not non stick.

Shredded Cheese for the top after cooking, I used Colby Jack

Thanks for the Recipe!  I'm going to give it a try minus the mushrooms (yuck).  Have you tried the Syntrax Protein Drinks?  I love my Lemon Tea.  I drink it plain most of the time but you can add crystal lite and make it any flavor you want.  I'm not fond of the GNC chocolates.  I have the Pro Performance at home just as a go to if I start running low before my order comes in.

Does the Lemon tea have caffeine in it?  I have been staying away from caffeine since I broke my coffee addiction prior to surgery as part of the pre op diet.

I have a tub of the Fuzzy Navel Syntrax Nectar-  not a big fan. What do you mix it in?  I have a sample pack now, I should try some others.  I also have had Unjury Chocolate, taste was similar and cost much more.
