New to the board
Hi everyone,
I also have been hanging out on the RNY board and then I heard about this board. I didn't' know there was such a place and
that I was considered a lightweight. I am frustrated that the weight loss is slower but knowing I am not alone is helpful. Oh yes,
I had RNY on Oct. 9th. So far I have had a good experience no troubles, lucky me.

I'm a lightweight, too. I just heard about this board and will likely be hanging out here the most as we seem to have common issues. I was losing slowly but steadily and then I stalled for 2 weeks. The good thing about my first stall was that during that time I went down a pant size! My husband could really see the difference but the scale stayed the same. Didn't budge an iota! Now it finally moved 3 lbs. I decided to track religiously. My doctor said we have a shorter "window" of opportunity to lose in the "honeymoon" period. My surgery was Aug. 31.
Welcome to you both.

Welcome!!!!!
It is crazy how we go down in inches when we are in a stall, but for some reason that's how it works. Stalls can be discouraging at times but sometimes it just needs to rest and make some adjustments.
I don't think that we have a shorter window, I think we get to a Normal BMI quicker and our bodies know it's time to stop so we start Maintenance quicker.

If it makes you feel better, lightweights don't actually lose more slowly. In fact, statistically we get to goal more often and faster, most within the first 6-10 months.
Now the absolute pounds we lose may not stack up to someone with twice as much to lose we we have, but the rate is right up there.
For example, I "only" lost 12 pounds the first month and another 12 the second. But I got to goal at 6-7 months and stopped losing completely at 10-11. That's because, by the time I had surgery, I had only 70 pounds left of my 100 pounds of excess weight while heavyweights still had 100-300 pounds to lose and were only lose 20-30 pounds a month.

I'm a 2 part DSer and revisions are normally slow losers (my stomach's nearly 2 years old and I can eat a fair bit for someone who's had WLS).
Lightweights only tend to be slow in absolute figures but not percentages, ie if person A has 100lb to lose and person B has 200lb to lose and A loses 10lb in the first month and B loses 20lb in the first month then it's the same percentage, the numbers just seem a lot less though - OK I'm calculating % EWL not total weight %, as I'm not getting into math on a Saturday!!
