recovering from my surgery

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to update you on my thoraxic surgery. I was found to have a non-malignant carcinoma during the surgery on 10-8. My hospital stay lasted 5 very long days, but as soon as I got home I started to improve immediately. Every day gets a little easier. My daughter is having her vertical sleeve done on Election Day.
I have been told that all of the tests and appts. I had for my sleeve are good for two years. They told me I might only have to repeat the cardiology appt.
Of course, since I am recovering from a different surgery it is difficult to think ahead that far. I will keep reading the boards and I guess I will know when/if the time is right.

So they went in to do a sleeve and ended up taking out a tumor? What a bummer and a blessing all at the same time.  Goodness.

Years ago, I had a fibroid tumor removed and they put me in the Ob-gyn part of the hospital.  All the candy stripers came in asking if I had a girl or boy and I had to answer, tumor.  At least I got to keep my uterous so I was able to have babies after that.  Everything happens for a reason.  Glad you are progressing.

I'm glad that it was non-malignant and that you're recovering.

All the best to your daughter. May she have an uneventful surgery and easy recovery.

Some of you may remember that I was one appt. away from setting up my surgery date for the gastric sleeve. During this time I had a CT scan of my chest and a lesion that I have had for two years had grown in size and had to be removed. This surgery was done on 10-8.
I have been told that after I recover from the lung surgery I can start planning the weight loss surgery again, although the though of another surgery is quite frightening. If I do decided to go ahead the surgery would not be scheduled until the summer.

Thanks for posting your story again.  After you share in your DD's exciting journey and you get past your thorax surgery maybe you will feel better about rescheduling your  WLS.  It's too bad you can't experience this together.
