I shudder to think - not even sure I can count that high!! But DSers posting were adamant that calorie counting wasn't necessary which is what helped me choose the DS - I just don't have the restraint you RNYers have (plus my stomach's nearly 2 years old and I can eat lots for someone who's had WLS only a normie would think the amount I eat isn't much).

If I stall I may have to start carb counting, but I won't worry until it happens (this may happen soon as I'm getting very close to a healthy BMI - my surgeon didn't insist I regain all the way to a BMI of 35 thankfully).

Actually I'd probably get on the exercise wagon before getting on the carb counting wagon to be honest (well finding my pedometer would be a first step - I'm convinced it must be in my house, otherwise I'll order one this weekend).

BTW I crave variety - I get bored sooo quickly post op, it's really crazy. I'm over my Burger King phase and that was with me having King of the Day which was a different burger each day!!

Thank you for the carb reminder.  It is so true.  I read the article Gina posted, and I truly was a product of the 70s science.  Every diet I went on was low calorie/low fat.  I was extremely low fat programmed.  I never considered carbs...

Since beginning WLS journey, the education on carbs has been a new quest for me.  But I am aware now more than ever how carb sensitive I am.  Once again, thank you for reminding us.
