My special day
I've got to say - this has been the best ride of my life. I hit my goal 9 months after surgery and went a bit lower for the first 2 years. I'm how 7 lbs heavier than my goal, but it's all good. I'm watching it carefully so I don't go any higher. I did develop Reactive Hypoglycemia. While I initially thought it to be a bad curse, it really keeps me in check. I truly believe I would have gained more weight if I didn't.
I can truly say I can contribute my success to staying on this board and getting a slap every now and then from my friends here. I do hope I've also been able to help others along the way.
I've had more than my share of life changes and events, but it's all good. I'm a true believer that things happen for reasons.
My current project is buying a house in July and updating it. I'm only 2 miles away from my daughter and granddaughter, and that's a good thing. I still work in VA, but am splitting my time between the 2 places. The goal is to get to know my granddaugher, and she know me - and it's happening! It's so exciting to be a part of her life. My daughter is pregnant and will have #2 (Vivian) any day now.
Cute story my daughter told me today: She bought a a car seat for me to have so we can go places in my car when I'm here. It was sitting in the living room (because we haven't installed it in my car yet) and Wynn (granddaughter) sat in it, insisted she be strapped and said "bye bye with GrGr (my name)" I thought it was so cute!! She's such a doll! I really can't wait for my next granddaughter!
Anyway - I'm off topic here. I can get on the floor and play with her - and it feels so good. Before - who knows. I may have gotten on the floor, but not back up...
Life is good. I can't complain. And I know my WLS is a huge contributor to both how I feel physically, as well as how I feel about myself. I LOVE dressing up, shopping, etc. I used to have a weekly shopping post, but then I had to STOP shopping - LOL.
Anyway - this was "off the cuff" post and I really didn't have much time to think about and prepare for it, but for the newbies (and those who haven't had surgery yet) - this really is the best thing. You won't be sorry!

I'll be back Nov 11th probably just for the week, then come back up for Thanksgiving. Let's plan on doing dinner one of those nights.
It's such a joy watching Wynn just be herself - and it's really extra special that she is getting to know me and interacting so much more with me. That was the whole purpose of this!!

So excited about your new little one coming soon!! My DS and his wife are having a baby in May. I know you are a great grandmama. Glad you could get close to them.
I always loved the shopping thread. I have had to just stay out of stores also!! I now love to shop...
Congrats again and wishing you continued success. Maybe we can all get together again one day.
Linda
I still shop... just not as excited about it anymore - lol. Clothes fit me differently and it can be frustrating at times.

Jody, you have been such a big part of my success! With our surgeries just a week apart I've enjoyed sharing this ride with you! You have made life interesting at times and have amazed me how you handle it all. It sounds like things are going great for you now. I bet your DD is greateful that you have decided to move closer to her.
Vivian...what a pretty name.... I can't wait for pictures! I bet you do a lot of shopping for the little ones...LOL.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!
