What time of day do you exercise? I am struggling to find the balance....
I started a new job and with my long commute I am struggling with finding the time to exercise like I should. I have to be at work early. I leave home at 6:10am. I get up at 5 am walk and feed the dog, shower and leave. With traffic I am not getting home until 6:30 or 7pm. I cook supper, help with homework, run children, etc. before I know it it is 11pm. Getting up at 5 I am exhausted and needing to shower and hit the bed. I have to find the time. I cannot gain back this weight. I am truly struggling. I feel like a hamster that is caught up in the life wheel but can't hit the treadmill.
Any advice I can get I would appreciate it.

I would say your Life sounds like its exercise lol!
Seriously I am in the same boat . Im attending art school 6 days a week now like 10 hours per day ... AND working before hand ... and trying to see my husband on weekends , do grocery shopping , think about getting a much-needed haircut lol...
Theres NO WAY in the world I'm not getting enough exercise ( just walking to and from the EASEL lol! )
What I'm not getting enough of is SLEEP which packs on the pounds

Maybe Hubs can morning walk the dog , even put down the chirren occasionally ? I TRY to delegate ... or at least IGNORE things that miraculously get done once I drop the responsibility to do them perfectly lol .
You know I have to remind myslef ... life went on BEFORE I got here and people I love will survive JUST FINE if I'm gone . If I let them harass me into an early grave thats JUST what will happen ... heck NO !!

Well walking the dog is exercise.
But if you want to do more, what works for me is to do it on the way home from work. I can't make myself get up any earlier to do it before work (thought that work for some people) and, if i go home, that's it... I'm in for the night and swept up in all the stuff I have to do at home.
Also, at my current job, a lot of us go for a walk after lunch. And that helps too.

Put supper in the crock pot so you don't have to do it when you get home.
I go to classes in the late afternoon because that is when they are but I hate being gone then. It is after work for most folks. I find if I am doing a class, I am more likely to go and I work out harder than I would if I was on my own. If you stop to exercise, that may help the traffic too since you would be going at a different time.
Assign task to the kids or DH. Like walking the dog, doing supper one night, homework, whatever. Make a schedule. Get to bed earlier. Cook in batches on the weekend so there is less to do during the week. Sit down with the whole family and see how you can work it out.
I know it isn't easy. When I had little kids and was working full time and in school, I ran in the mornings before anyone else got up. That worked for me then.

That is a demanding schedule. My kids are grown, but I remember those days.
The only thought I have is perhaps you can get a treadmill or similar machine. Mine is in my garage. My surgeon stressed 30 minutes per day is adequate for losing and maintaining. That is what I aim for. At almost 3 years out, that strategy has worked well for me. I may go weeks w/o walking, but I always return to my routine. I strive for 45 minutes if outside but 30 minutes if on my treadmill.

Thanks for the feedback ladies! I am truly thankful to have you all to turn to. I know there are days when it seems this is forever but it's all only temporary. I can't sleep so I guess today could be the dayi hit that treadmill for 30 minutes before work. I have so come too far to let 15lbs ruin it all. I think I can I think I can! Prayers please! This carb monster is like no other! Got to slay him first!

Danielle, Fit it in where ever you can!! A 30 min walk at lunch, when you get home before dinner etc. you have to do this for you. we all struggle, but we have to be grateful for our tool (and I know you are) I run when my son is at soccer practice (I run around the park) at Sunday school (I run around the neighborhood) before dinner when my husband gets home (before dinner) and every Sat and Sunday ( usually a 4 Mile long run) Find the time for you!!! You can do this :-)
