Good Morning. Tid bits about calcium
There is more calcium in the body than any other mineral.
Calcium and magnesium work together for cardiovascular health.
Almost all the calcium (2-3 pounds) is found in bones and teeth.
In order for calcium to be absorbed, the body must have sufficient vitamin D.
What it can do for you:
Decrease the risk of bone loss and fractures.
Alleviate insomnia.
Help metabolize your body's iron.
Help in weight management.
Supplements:
The best forms are hydroxipate, calcium citrate, and calcium hydrogen phosphate. (Calcium citrate provides the most usable calcium per tablet.)
When combined with magnesium, the ratio should be two parts calcium to one part magnesium.
Toxicity and Warning Signs of Excess:
Excessive daily intake, over 2,500mg, might lead to hypercalcemia. Overly high intakes may also cause constipation and increase the risk of kidney stones and urinary tract infections.
Enemies:
Large quantities of fat, oxalic acid (found in chocolate, spinach, Swiss chard, parsley, beet greens and rhubarb), and phytic acid (found in grains) are capable of preventing proper calcium absorption.
Advice:
Take your calcium with cranberry juice. [In our case, diet cranberry juice.]
Long term high dairy calcium intake may increase the rate at which dietary fat is burned.

Someone I know just broke her hip-she did NOT have any type of WLS. The doctors contributed it to her taking calcium with D and not exercising. They told her with calcium and D you need to exercise to get it to help the bones. Of course I'm getting this info from a third party person who may have misunderstood some of this.
Have you ever heard of this?
