NSV And Redistribution

I have many, many pairs of jeans.  I am kind of a jean junkie.  The problem is I get into my favorite pair or two and wear them all the time and then I have lots of jeans I never wear mainly because I forget about them.  So today I was looking through them to find a pair that I hadn't worn for a while and I came across My Guess jeans.  I bought them over a year ago because they were sized 0.  At the time I think I was wearing 3 or 4 but I tried them on because they were button down jeans and I love button down jeans and they fit!  They were $25 at Goodwill, which is ridiculous and I have never spent that much for any single item at Goodwill.  Hell, I don't think I ever even paid $25 for a new pair of jeans, but because they were size 0 I bought them.  Then I found the exact same jeans on Ebay for $10 but that's life.

Anyway, I wore those jeans for a long time until I lost too much weight and they were too big on me.  I put them in my shed to save for later and then put them back in my closet but never wore them.
Today I saw them again and put them on and they fit perfect!  An item of clothes that I remember buying over a year ago and they still fit.

What is strange, to me anyway, is that I haven't really gained a lot of weight.  In fact, this morning I weighed about 104.  I have tracked my weight almost every day since my surgery and my weight hit it's lowest point about a year ago and since the beginning of the year my weight has consistently been within 5 lbs, ranging from about 102 to 107, the most stable I can ever remember my weight being, for the longest time.  Yet I have recently noticed that some of my clothes are fitting differently.  Mainly my jeans feel tighter.  I wore a pair the other day that are a size 2 that fit pretty good, maybe a little loose, a few weeks ago and now they are a little tight even though I weigh the same.  I am just over 2 years out and I have heard people talk about the fat redistributing and I guess that is what is going on.  I have been getting more positive feedback when I run into people I haven't seen for a while and I have even had people recognize me that haven't seen me for a while.  That really made me happy because for a long time when I would run into someone I hadn't seen for a while I could see the shock in their face when they saw me because I looked so different and so many people thought I was sick.  I guess I don't look so unhealthy any more since no one has made any of those comments in a long time.

I still wouldn't mind gaining a few pounds but I am starting to feel like I don't look so bad as I am.

Congratulations! I heard about redistribution as well. I hope it happens to me and I loose some of this stomach! It's few places that it can land like my chest or behind! LOL

I have experienced the same thing. Even though my weight is within 2-3 lbs for the past 1.5 years, my jeans do fit a bit differently. I have added some muscle to my glutes, so I don't have flat butt syndrome any longer (still have some of the droopiness) and my legs have more muscle. I have noticed the biggest change in my pants. I still wear the same size, but I think most of them fit better. Because of the weight training, I have added some muscle, so I don't see my bones as much. I think I also have a bit more fat on me, but I think that it is my body readjusting after the weight loss.

 Oh yes... redistribution...

I've gained about 7 lbs from my "goal", but KNOW if I were to lose 7 pounds that my clothes would fit very differently.  I would attribute that to redistribution.

Heck - I'm getting really frustrated now.  My "weight" went into my hips/butt/thighs.  This is the problem I've always had.  Small waist, but thighs/hips/butt.  It's SO hard to get anything to fit now.  Gone are the days when I could grab a 4 of pretty much anything and it would fit perfectly in every place.

Glad to hear you're feeling better about yourself - I had someone say it looked like I've lost weight in my face - DAMN - must of went to my thighs!!

It sounds like redistributing has been successful for you!  It's nice to read the positive tone in your post.....

My DH and DD's said there was a time I looked sickly.  I guess I was so obsessed with the number on the scale that I didn't see it.  I do remember people asking me if I was sick or hugging me because they were afraid to ask but those days are over. Now I usually get told I look great from people I haven't seen for awhile. Everyone else is used to it and the compliments are far between.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

My clothes still fit and I am close to the same weight but I have a tummy now.  I have been exercising and doing core stuff and now weights.  I don't know where it came from, but my upper and lower abdomen is bigger than it was a year ago, I think.
