X-Post: Revision causing bigger than normal RNY pouch?
Even though my surgery took care of my acid reflux my pouch still feels hungry and grumbly if I don't take my Prilosec every day. My Surgeon started me back on the medication a couple of weeks out and told me to take it forever. If I skip a few days I feel like I'm starving.
Don't use your bigger pouch as an excuse for eating more. Just like dieting I think you can shrink your stomach if you weigh your food and limit how much you eat at a time.

Hi Roz,
I'm on the Prevacid meltaways and will likely have to stay on them forever since I am on aspirin also. I have missed a few days here and there, but didn't notice if I was extra hungry on those days. I will have to pay attention if I miss a dose in the future.
That's exactly what I'm worried about, eating more than I should! I guess I am always going to have to weigh and measure or I will likely over eat. I was hoping with having the surgery that I would be able to be less vigilant during the weight loss stage but that doesn't seem to be the case. It was that way in the beginning, but not so much now.
At least I know why it seems I am hungrier than many of the people at the same stage out as me or still hungry after I ate my RNY sized portion. I was wondering what was going on and why so many peopled seemed to have no appetite at this point and yet at times I am back to wanting to eat anything not nailed down. Though I guess part of it could also be GERD symptoms and/or thirst or a combination of the two. Or, maybe I still haven't figured out what exactly my body is trying to tell me. . . .I wouldn't rule that out either.
At least I know now why I feel like I can eat more than I should be able to. I'd much rather have a game plan (more dense proteins and fluid) than just flounder through sliding back into bad habits and re-gain. I sooooooooooo am not going there again!!!!
Thanks for the advice!
