Good Morning. The new fiscal year is here...
Today I'm counting net carbs to see how many I eat a day. If I go according to plan, I'm getting in a little over 55 but under 70. You guys on maintenance, do you know how many net carbs you're eating a day? It might open your eyes.
Y'all have a good one.

Net carbs - I know on a weekend like I just had, there were more in my morning bagel than I usually have in a day. While I was losing, I tried to stay around 30. I ease up to the 50 range in maintainance. But there certainly are times when I am away from home that it surges up way past that, and the scale follows. Then back to reality and "being good".
This is my one day at home before heading out again. This time to the beach to see my sister, neice and her new baby from San Fransisco. This week and next are short weeks as next week I am off to Ky for my annual horse camping trip. I did finish the quilt last night to take to the baby so that is checked off the list. Eye dr, laundry, work, muscle pump this evening.

My carb count was through the roof yesterday. I ate almost all junk all day. Today is a new day. I bought that snacky stuff and - yup, I ate (some) of it. The pistachios.... oh my...
But no, I don't count carbs. I'm sure mine are high everyday. I need to get back on track. Today is a new week and today is a new day.

I don't count net carbs...I count ALL carbs. WHEN I count. It's a hangover from almost a decade of being on insulin and having to account for all carbs in that equation. Insulin does not distinquish between carbs and fiber in most diabetics...we are affected by all of them. Fiber just hits us slower than sugar but it is all carb.
I keep my full carbs under 100 most days...aim for 75 but don't get weirded out if I go over. I'm more focused on protein than anything. If I get all that in, carbs don't have nearly as much room.
Like yesterday...we went to Greekfest and ended up grabbing some food. Dh and I Soulvaki (this was pork not lamb) on a stick...EXCELLENT! And it was all protein. We did share a bite of a donut hole type dessert (about one bite each) and had a bite of the broiled cheese.
Yes, I probably had more carbs than I needed but the bite of the donut thingy tasted great and I did not feel left out.

I probably need to do a count day sometime. Most days I eat about the same thing and it is usually protein drinks, some protein meat and maybe a little veggie of some type. I know there are a few carbs in the milk I use and I eat cheese a lot. I do still try to stay away from white carbs except on rare ocassions.
Hope everyone has a great Monday. We have a board meeting this afternoon and another one tomorrow afternoon. It is going to be a short week for me. I took off Friday for some reason. I can't remember why... I think I just wanted a day off.
