2 week appointment

I had my first follow up appointment yesterday. Since I still have no energy to speak of, he granted me an additional 2 weeks off work. This is good news as I have another surgery coming up 10/9, I'm having an endometrial ablation done. My OB/GYN said I would need about 2 weeks off after. Because my VSG surgeon extended my off-work order, it means I can keep everything under the same disability claim and not have to eat a second 7 day waiting period. Here in CA we automatically pay into a short term disability fund that covers 2/3 of our pay if we are out of work for medical reasons. This is good news for our budget.

Oh, another piece of good news, he pulled me of of bp meds . He said that they might have something to do with my lack of energy. If my bp stays in the normal range, I am done with the meds and all the side effects that went with them.

Congratulations!  Sounds like you have several things going good for you!

I had an endometrial ablation done - I had it done Friday and went back to work on Monday...

getting off BP meds is HUGE!  I hope you can find your energy soon.  I know I dragged for a couple of months after surgery - but I chalked it up to be heavy.

Thanks for the info. My OB/GYN said he wants patients to have 2 weeks off because of pain meds. He tells me it is quite painful. He will be doing Novasure. I scheduled them close together on purpose because of the off work issues. It also made it easier to get the sub I wanted.

Mine wasn't painful at all - but I've heard of some people on this board (a few years ago) that had it done and said they had a lot of pain.  Not sure why it wouldn't be for me, but was for others???? And no, I DON'T have a high pain tolerance!  LOL.

Glad the scheduling all worked out for you.  That's one less stress for you!

Sounds great.  I love getting off those meds. My dr went very slow but they are all gone now.
