First Bad Experience After RNY!
I am 7 weeks out and last night I had my first bad experience! Hubby made salmon for dinner and I have had this before. He put dill on mine like usual and rosemary on his for a change. He wanted me to try the rosemary so I had a bite of it, no big deal. Took about 2 bites of mine and suddenly had horrible pain in my stomach and chest. Got the foamies but didn't throw up. I panicked and called my dr who said I must have ate something that didn't agree with me and if it didn't get better to go to ER or come see him in the morning. About 10 minutes after I got off the phone with him I threw up and all was good! We figure it must have been the rosemary but for my first bad experience it wasn't to much fun!
Maybe the rosemary but maybe the salmon. I think anything can do it if it isn't chewed to nothing early out, even if you have eaten it before with no problem. It certainly isn't fun and is pretty scarey. Glad you could throw up. Lots of us can't seem to do that. Glad you are ok now. Go slow, bites the size of a pencil erraser chewed to nothing. Its when we start getting a few weeks out and think we have this thing figured out that it comes back and bits us in the butt.

Most of us have been there at some point...early out some things just do not sit right.....usually I had the foamies so I am sure it was a relief that you were able to throw up. Chew everything as much as you can and take small bites and hopefully this will happen rarely. Surgery is worth it...just a learning curve early out.....

Sorry you experienced this but think as it as "MY TOOL IS WORKING...YEAH!!!!!!"
Anything can give you the foamies. I get them really bad on scrambled eggs and I take little bites. Sometimes it takes me a whole day of misery before I can make myself throw up. The trick is not to panic. As long as you can breath and get fluids done all should be fine after awhile. Try to lay down and get your body to relax.
Just recently I had to go to the ER because a piece of meat got stuck and after trying all night long I just couldn't get it up. The bill was $1600.00!! Thank goodness I have insurance!!
