That sounds like acid reflux without the heartburn. (I didn't realize you could have acid reflux without the heartburn which is why I had it for years and didn't realize it.)
With a stricture, you have pain when you eat and nothing goes down eventually not even liquids will pass through the point of the stricture. You get them where there was cutting so not in the throat because that wasn't changed but at the connections and sometimes along the staple line.

Every once in a while I still get a vitamin stuck or it goes down the wrong way and it is a terrible feeling. Scrambled Eggs do the same thing to me. It's not really painful but you know something theres and it is very uncomfortable.
I know this is gross but usually after severall hours I can't take it any more and I make myself throw upand it goes away.
