I'm so happy to report that I've been off my Fentanyl pain patch for more than 2 weeks now!  All I can say is FINALLY!!!  I can actually say that I feel somewhat normal again - no zoning out, no constipation and NO MORE PAIN!

I can honestly say that I no longer take even the simplest things for granted anymore.  Being able to drive on the highway again was such an exhilarating feeling.  Even getting a hug and kiss from my husband and kids means so much more to me now.  I know everything happens for a reason, but what a way to get a life lesson!

Anyway, I hope you all have a great Sunday!

I'm glad your off the pain patch.  I'm such a pain med wuss.  One Percocet and I'm asleep for 12 hours.  I've been hit or miss on here since I've been sick too.  What's going on?

For me it was really a "damn if I do, damn if I don't" issue with that pain patch.  If I didn't change it out, I was in severe pain and just miserable.  If I changed the patch, then I was preparing to feel out of sorts all over again.  I definitely couldn't take a shower for fear that the heat would release too much medicine into my system (I knew when it did because I felt really out of sorts).  Either way I felt stuck - a feeling I never did like.

I do hope you feel better soon.  Hang in there!

Thanks, Linda!  I think the biggest joy I can take from this the fact that I'm about 13 lbs away from my goal weight!  I also have to say that it's fun being able to wear my daughter's t-shirts - and she'll be 12-years-old next month!

I hated doing the pain meds for my knee and at the same time, couldn't do PT without them.  then DH would have to drive me because I wouldn't drive with them.  Hurray for being off.  good for you.
