OT:Interesting update

I'm sorry I've been off the board lately.  Just been a little depressed.  My doctors drew more labs last week.  The best news is I don't have arachnoiditis which causes lifelong pain!!!  The interesting news is that so far the only lab test to come back abnormal (from this round) is my IGm to West Nile Virus. WTF?  I get my lab results online sooner than my dr does.  She is off on Mondays but I will hear from her on Tuesday.  We will be doing another lumbar puncture I am sure.  Yuck.

On a positive note, I am doing so well my physical therapists think I might be able to go back to work in January.  My FMLA ends on Dec 6, but my boss is fighting to hold my job until Jan 2.  Fingers crossed!!

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis - feeling down is understandable and you sound like you're doing pretty well all considered.

I'm swinging critters for your health and your job and sending you a big virtual ((hug)).

I'm glad you're doing so much better. Did they ever test all your B vitamins...just curious.

He tested B12 and Thiamine.  Both very normal at the upper end of the range.  He also tested Zinc which isn't back yet and copper that is almost dead center of normal.  As far as labs go, the only things really off are the demylelinating basic protein in my CSF and the IgM for WNV.  So very weird.  It's not always good to be unique.  :-)

So it might be something associated with Lime Disease?  It can present in all kinds of ways, right? Very confusing when trying to diagnose.

We love you in all your uniqueness. :)

No Lyme disease or other tick borne illness.  They checked for that first thing.  I had been camping the weekend before I got sick and there was a tick in my panties.  West Nile Virus is mosquito borne.  Only 3 confirmed cases in Utah this year according to the CDC.  I might be #4.

Ok, sorry for my confusion. West Nile is the suspect, then. I'll keep swinging lizards.

Tonya, I'm glad it is not the arachnoiditis, but I know you are ready for some answers and a plan to get you back to good health!!  Hope your doctor can get this all figured out.

I'm glad your physical therapy is going so well.  Hope they hold your job for you.  I'm sure you don't need the stress of that also.

Hang in there and keep us updated.  Swinging "Little Willie" for you!!
