Back To Work, May Be TMI
Well, it's official. I start this Monday. The first week is training so I will be working 10 hour days for 4 days, 7am to 5pm. I haven't worked outside my home in over 10 years so I am nervous about a few things. I am trying to plan ahead.
For now I am thinking I will take with me lunch and at least 2 snacks. I plan on eating breakfast before I go. I will bring water the first day until I find out if they have bottled water there. I don't know what the policies are as far as eating and drinking at my desk will be. Of course I will bring my afternoon supplements, too. Any other hints?
One of my big concerns may be TMI but since my revision my bathroom habits can be time consuming. I tend towards constipation so I take Miralax every day along with chia seeds but I can still take a long time finishing, if you know what I mean. I have a rectocele so that makes eliminating even harder. It would be great if I could change my schedule so I do my business at night. I just don't know how I am going to handle that situation other then maybe just strength of will. It's bad enough that I drink nearly a gallon of fluids a day so I have to pee all the time. If I put off drinking until I am home then I will be up all night using the bathroom. I seem to have a small bladder. I remember reading once that if you get into the habit of drinking a lot your bladder will get bigger so you can hold more and use the bathroom less often but that hasn't been the case for me.
Any other advice on transitioning into being a working person would be appreciated.

Wishing you good luck, Tazz. Question for you...why are you eating chia seeds. DSrs use them to firm things up not help with constipation.

I pee all the time but since I work from home, I am ok. I do find that it is worse about an hour after I drink which makes sense. I drink my last protein drink at 9pm and so I am up 2x at night to pee. I know your problem. Would changing your mirilax time help. I do benefiber in the morning and usually go in the morning after my hot drink, protein decaf. Maybe change from morning to evening or something would help change the time your body wanted to evacuate. My only other suggestion is to bring more food that you think you will need at least in the beginning. I hate it when I get too hungry and then over eat or eat something I shouldn't because I didn't plan well enough.

The Miralax keeps things pretty soft it just takes me a long time to finish on some days. The rectocele is what seems to keep me from being able to get empty. It is like a hernia on my vaginal wall that the rectum bulges out of and keeps things trapped. I had surgery for it once and it came back and they are reluctant to do surgery again at this point.

Good luck on your job!!
I would change the Miralax to afternoon. I usually put mine in my morning Protein Drink and that usually works for the afternoon. Sometimes the next morning. I don't recommend trying to use will to hold off going. Usually when I do that, I end up not being able to go and have to take extra things...
Luckily I have a job that you can get up from your desk anytime so drinking has not been a problem. I hope your new employee is like that. I would hate to have to drink all my fluids when I get home because like you, I would never sleep for going to the bathroom!!
