Surgery Over & I"m Back Home

Hello all - just wanted to let you know that my surgery went well on Monday and I am at home with no complications!  I've been sipping & walking and trying to do everything they told me to.

I've had almost no pain - but my surgeon used this awesome tool called OnQ - it dispenses lydacane to and around the incision points so right now 90% of my stomach is numb - We'll see how things feel in a few days when that wears off!

Anyway, thanks for you prayers and support!

Chris

Welcome home! Sounds like things are going very well. I'm liking the OnQ tool if it helps with pain. I hope things keep getting better and better.

Hurray.  Being home is wonderful. You can get much more rest at home than in the hospital.
By the time your tummy isn't numb, most of the pain will be over.  Sounds great.

Keep walking, sipping and resting.  You  are on your way to a great adventure.

Congrats on a successful and pain-free - so far - surgery.

I also had a "pain pump" - after one of my plastic surgery's - was awesome.. it was only for a few days but it was to get you through the rough parts.

Take it easy - you've had major surgery - rest, sip and walk!

Congrats on a pain free surgery! It's so exciting to start a new beginning! I'm 6 weeks post op and starting to love this whole life change! The first couple weeks were tough for me, but as soon as I had solid foods I felt amazing! Enjoy your journey and welcome to the losers bench.

Congratulations to you. Remember to walk, walk, walk. I found that if I walk through the pain, it helps. It's usually gas. You can do it!

Congratulations! I had my surgery on 9/12/12 but I don't think my surgeon used that neat tool. Luckily, I wasn't in alot of pain after the 1st 24hrs in hospital.

How are you at pacing your drinking? I'm finding that a little hard. I've tried setting a timer on my phone LOL. Do you know what happens if you drink your water or your meal too fast? I'm in my 2nd week so for lunch & dinner I'm have 5oz of thinned & strained cream of broccoli etc. soup with a scoop of unflavored protein (I might thin it down some more with a splash of water). How are you doing?
