Hello to all of our Lightweights!!!  If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!!    Besides my tool,  I count  Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!!   AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!!  THEY ARE ADDICTING!!  THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!!  THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER!

Success in Maintenance starts with good choices during the Honeymoon Phase!

Happy Monday!!  A new week.   Before WLS did you always start  your latest Diet on Monday?  What do Monday's (or the day your week starts)  mean to you now?

Mondays mean ROUTINE for me now.
The difference is that I use to pig out on the weekend and then diet on Monday.  Now I eat more of a variety but still within the guidelines that I have set for myself and then go back to my planned meals on Monday.

I use Kirmy's recipe below except I use SF Starbucks vanilla syrup instead of agave.

one large egg a teaspoon of baking soda

two and a bit tablespoons of almond meal/flour

a massive glug of agave nectar (about 3-4 tablespoons of more if you have a violent sweet tooth like me 6....sorry)

a full cup of peanut butter two shakes of cinnamon

Mix them together then wet you hands and roll them into balls and stick them on a cookie tray and stick it in a medium over for 10mins. Let them cool for a bit on the tray as they are quite squishy at first then cool them on a rack to harden up.

Here is the recipe. I threw some cinnamon in the last time and I think I'll add ginger the next time. They are a little dry but I like to eat mine frozen so that helps. If you come up with any other suggestions I'd love to hear them!

It looks like you are starting the week off GOOD!

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies
1 cup peanut butter
1 1/3 cups sugar replacement like Splenda
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat ove to 350 degrees. Grease a large baking sheet (or you could probably use parchment paper.

In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, 1 cup sugar replacement, the egg and vanilla, stir well with a spoon. Roll the dough into balls the size of walnuts. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet. With a fork, dipped in splenda
to keep it from sticking, press a crisscross design on each cookie. Bake for 12 minutes, remove from the oven, and sprinkle the cookies with some of the remaining splenda. Cool slightly before removing from pan.

The trick is to make the best choices you can make and watch your portions.

Hi Roz,
It is funny that you mentioned diet.  There is a girl at work that is on some crazy 3 day diet.  She has been complaining about it since last Friday.  Today for lunch she had 5 soda crackers and a boiled egg.  I remember those days well and am glad I don't have to do that.  While I do have to keep my eating in check, I have to say it is more of a lifestyle change than a diet now.  I do eat a little different on the weekends and then come back to my routine on Monday.  It is a lot easier to get back into my routine now than before WLS.

5 Saltines and a boiled egg would be a normal meal for me....and she is dieting (and probably starving)...LOL.

I love ginger.  I think I'm going to put some in my Flourless Peanut Butter cookies next time. Any suggestions on how to make the cookies moister?

Good Menu!
