Ok, you want to keep the whey/dairy away from it for at least an hour.

My Vitamin D was that low pre-op too. I started taking more D and it got up pretty easily. I think D is one that we don't really have issues with absorbing so just taking some is fine.
I wouldn't worry about how much. You are going to get follow-up labs and if your D is over 100, you can just take less. Toxicity with Vitamin D is much higher than that and you aren't goin to go from 30 to 300 in 6 months.
Normies are told to get 2000 IU a day as a reference.

Well just got my vitamins today I will have to remember it takes a week to get them!! I didnt realize that vitalady was on the other coast. Stupid me don't know how I did it but I bought d3-5 only the 5,000 iu not the 50,000. I so hate my new glasses grrrrr. But I will take these ones before I order any new ones (I can just take more of them a day?) and the surgeon may actually give me a prescription for a higher vitamin D before surgery? Should surgery ever happen! Goodness takes along time.
Thanks,
Trish

Prescription D is almost always D2 and we don't absorb much of it at all. So take the 5000 IU. One every other day is probably fine to start with pre-op.
