Good Morning. One day at a time

Doing this thing one step and one day at a time.  I think one of the reasons I'm doing this thing in such a boring way is I don't want to screw up. If I can turn things into a habit it's just easier. I do apologize to readers *****ad my M&M and B&V posts and see the same boring menu day in and day out, but it helps me. I need routine and habit to make this WLS journey work for me. I can indulge and enjoy occasionally and it makes things that much more enjoyable. Maybe my generation and the ones before are ok with delayed satisfaction...I dunno, but I'm ok with it. I know plenty of folks are absolutely disgusted that I don't vary my daily routine and meals--they're foodies, always have been and always will be. I guess I'm not. I'll drink my shakes and eat my Greek yogurt and we'll meet in 10 years and see how each of us has done weight and health wise. Cheers, folks, enjoy your weekend!

I think routine, at least for some of us, is very helpful.  Maybe not everyone needs it but for those who do, it is hard to function without it.  DH doesn't really have a routine now that he is retired and I think it is hard for him.  My routine changes from time to time, but I function best when I know what I have to get done the next day before I go to bed at night.

In terms of food, breakfast is the most routine meal I have.  Protein decaf, breakfast, protein drink, lunch, protein drink, 4:00 meal, dinner, protein shake.  That is my food routine and has been for about a year.  Even when I am camping, it stays pretty much the same.  Works for me.

I have yet to have my surgery but I am all about routine. Actually when I had my psych evaluation he told me that it was great I had a routine he seem to think it made a big difference with some. The only thing is I must say if my routine gets thrown out of wack it throws me for a loop.

I get on food kicks and during the week I tend to eat the same thing. I think most people do. Since I eat lunch with people I work with instead of at my desk, I get to see more how other people work than I used to and I see them eating the same sorts of things day in and day out too. One guy always brings 4oz. of yogurt no matter what his lunch is and then he pours it over the rice or mixes it with some curry. Every. Damn. Day.

But one thing I recently realized is that sometimes I eat out of habit and not need. I have my routine that worked well when training but now that I can't train it doesn't really work and I just never changed it. So yesterday I decided to cut two foods out of my daily lunch pail to save about 200-300 calories a day and see what happened. Would I just eat those calories when I got home? Or was I eating them for no good reason just because I always had? I guess we'll see...

I eat the same thing all week breakfast , lunch, supper. Then something different the next week , but still 3 times a day. Easier to plan and cook up a bunch to have ready to go. Less time to think about what to eat and possibly grab junk. This way it's done and ready to go , no excuse.

I love my routine, but I do like to change my food some.  I like to try different things.  I have a few that are my go to meals that I love.

I tend to eat the same thing for a week at the time.  On the weekends I may vary some if we go out to eat.  I do much better with my routine.  I cook on the weekends for the next week usually.

I stick pretty close to my protein drink routine - it just works for me.

I love boring and I love having a routine!!  I don't think about food all of the time like I did before WLS so eating the same things every day fits right into my routine.

Dinner is usally the only meal I actually think about because I have DH to consider.  Every night on my way home I call my DH and I ask him what he wants for dinner.  I usually have a few options for him and then I know if I need to stop and buy something to go with it.  Last night he didn't answer right away when I called and he wanted KFC but I was already past  it so that's what he is getting tonight unless he has something else in mind.

Once in awhile I like to try things but 99% of the time, we eat the same things over and over. So routine works.
