Goodbye for now

Dear Friends,
It seems that WLS is not to be in my immediate future. After completing every appt. but one in preparation for the sleeve, my pulmonary dr. informed me that two lesions on my lung are still growing and can not be considered stable. 6 months I had a PET scan which indicated no malignancies, but due to the growth and change of these lesions on my right lung I will have to have them removed and biopsied. Apparently this is a big deal with a long recovery.
To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I have many questions and few answers. Pray all goes well and I am cancer free.
I hope to join all of you on the losers bench this summer if insurance will approve. it.
Love to you all,
Ellen

Praying for you that it turns out to be nothing. I know this is a huge disappointment, but it would be best to be in the best health possible for WLS. Drop in every now and then to let us know how you are doing.

Oh Ellen, what a disappointment.  but I agree, hopefully you have caught it soon enough and it will just slow you down a little while you get healthy enough for surgery.  Healing thoughts coming your way.

Prayers and (((HUGS))) that everything turns out ok.

Time goes really fast and  this time next year you could be healthy and down a good portion of your weight.  You don't have to leave the LW board unless it is too upsetting for you.

Let us know what the biopsy says!

So sorry to hear that you are going through this Ellen. I too had to delay surgery due to female issues, not as serious as lung troubles but it was a big disapointment.
Being a cardiothoracic nurse for 16 years, I hope you are dealing with an infection or some type of inflammatory process that with surgery and medications will have you up and running around in no time!
Prayers going out to you! Keep us updated.

I have had two lesions on my right lung for two years. While a PET scan 6 months ago did not show any malignancies, the lesions have continued to grow. They have to be removed and biopsied. :-(
