Do any of you track your calories, or just your protein grams?
I am curious because the Diabetes Team wants me to do both and get in 105 grams of protein daily but stay at 1,000 calories and I'm not quite sure how to manage that when my protein shakes are 170 calories each and I'm supposed to be having at least 2-3 a day?!?!?

I'm almost 4 months out (15 weeks today).

Question - what protein are you using and how are you mixing it? I ended up stopping milk based shakes - or I'd do 1/2 milk 1/2 water with my protein (usually chocolate at that point) when I needed to lower calories. Now I like the fruity flavors mixed with water - keeps each to around 100 calories.

I had actually added in carbs over the past few weeks because I was ranging between 600-800 calories a day and they told me that was not a high enough caloric intake. I'm kind of regretting listening to them because now my weight loss has slowed down and now I WANT carbs where before I was eating them, I wasn't missing them at all

I only use the GNC Lean Shakes, the ready to drink ones. I was using the Ensure high protein RTD shakes, but they had too much sugar in it, same with the muscle milk.
I haven't found a whey protein yet that I can tolerate unless it is only partially whey being mixed with either the soy or milk isolate protein and not just 100% whey.
I keep wanting to try the Syntrax (Cherry, Lemonade, Tea, etc) but something always comes up when I get ready to order the samples and I haven't done it yet. I wish I could just find some in the stores around here. As picky as my taste buds are, I'm hesitant to buy a whole container of something new. I have literally wasted hundreds of dollars doing that already and then giving it away because I couldn't choke it down.

Yep - eating carbs makes you want more. Takes a good 3 days of 30carbs or under to "de-carb". But the issue with this whole "adding carbs to add calories" - is it isn't what you need to do to be successful in the long run - either during the weight loss phase or mainteannce. This is the time to learn the new/good eating habits and when maintenance comes around, they're ingrained into you. You will be eating larger amounts by then, but you'll be eating the right things. Adding carbs at this point is really counter-productive...
Listen to your body....
Go back to what was working for you. Honestly, I took the advice of the vets on this board more than I did my NUT or even Dr - but that's your call. I didn't have an "up close and personal" relationship with them, so I didn't have to really talk to them.
I had my 4 year follow up visit last week. They said my D was too high and to cut it out for 3 weeks then only add it 3X a week. I nodded my head and went "uh huh - sure"... but know damn well I'm not going to....

LoL. . .sometimes I think agreeing at the time is the best thing to do, than just keep doing what works!
I have definitely noticed a spike in my hunger too since adding in the carbs though I'm not sure if it is totally from the carbs or just normal appetite progression for where I am now.
My blood sugars have increased as well, though not terribly, but a good 10-20 points, which they are okay with as I'm still in the "range" that they want me in, but I was happier with my numbers lower.
I've been debating about just going back to how I was eating and not mentioning it to them

Thanks for the advice!
