I got a sore at the very top of my crack and it was painful to sit. I used some sheepskin and it really helped pad it.

Well, I vote for the padded bike shorts. Not only can they help now, but might help the problem long term. I have a friend who had RNY and she likes to bike long distance. She swears by them. I also know a youg lady who is super skinny. She takes her horse out for long rides and uses padded bike shorts under her riding clothes. If you try it and it works, let us know.

I guess a trip to the bike store is in order.  the gel pad I used on the saddle didn't want to stay put but if I have bike pants under my breeches, I guess the padding can't slip.

Price....if this was caused by the skin rubbing there is a great ointment made by monistat that prevents chaffing....it is in the the area in the store where you can other monistate products....this helped me muchly presurgery with chaffing and works great....hope the crack feels better soon!!!

I'll look for it, thanks.  Yeah, it is raw on both sides of my crack where the two sides rubbed.  Who'd have thought?

It works great...goes on like a cream/lubricant but feels like a powder once dry.....the very top of my crack has "cracked" before...gets dry I guess.....interesting things that happen, huh??!!

p.s. I have never been on a horse before....do you know of a good place to try one's first ride around here? Time to try something new.

For prevention, you might want to try Body Glide.
